Lets just start with the unit is very high quality and they include all the cables you need. The remote also has great quality buttons and everything is top notch on this unit. The power adapter is a normal 5v 2amp brick, but they use a round jack on the kvm side. Mine came with diections, but I had already watched the video which i suggest as well as the docs on the product listing. Next the capabilities of this thing are amazing! You can do so many things and you have so many display options. You can even mix and match. You can have 4 single computers or 2 computers with dual output, or 1 computer dual output and 2 computers or throw in a roku or tv cube or any other hdmi video source as one of the screens. But with all these features and possibilities also comes some complexity. IMO, they have done a great job with the included fairly complex wired remote and have simplified it as best as can be done. If you watch their video, you will really understand what you can do. I had to pause it several times because they give a lot of info in that short video but its well worth watching. It would be nice if you could switch your mouse and keyboard between the 4 split windows, but that would probably make more buttons or more complexity. Or why cant you split your primary screen as well. Just questions or thoughts. This thing is truly awesome and the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 100 stars is due to the 4k@30 limit. Which they clearly state, but for me personally, I would prefer 4k@120 at least on the primary port, then this would be perfect... for me. I really love the multiscreen display and pic in pic and all the features and the quality, it really is fantastic ... show more

Good unit, BUT.....The included instructions reveal the fact that all computers connected to this device require two video outputs, one vga and another hdmi...This was not indicated in the description on the site. Also, When using the ports for the Number 4 position, these cables are so close to the output cables the connectors need to be trimmed in order for them to plug in next to each other. I was hoping this would combine EITHER VGA OR HDMI....Not the case. ... show more

It would seem that the most important thing about getting this to work properly is the turn-on order. This was on, like, page 1 of the instructions. The rest was filled with a...frankly dizzying array of different input configurations this is capable of, from multi-graphics card computers to game consoles with an equally dizzying array of different display configurations. I've used quite a few KVMs. Some nice ones, too. I don't think I've ever seen one that does as many different things as this can do. And they don't skimp on the accessories, either. There is probably $50 or MORE worth of USB and HDMI cables in the box. I've seen KVMs that come with little more than a power cable. There is one little...oddity...and that's the presence of a wired remote. Yep, you read that right. As in, connected with an actual wire. This is like, some serious 1950's nostalgia built into an otherwise ultra-modern piece of gear. I don't know how many of you are up on your "TV remote control history", but the first ever TV remote control was invented by Zenith in 1950. It was called, humorously, the "Lazy Bone". And you guessed it, it used a rather bulky cable to connect the remote to the TV, and could raise and lower the volume as well as change the channel. High tech! In 1950 anyway...the "clicker" wireless remote didn't come until some years later. So, this has a wired remote. It's...perhaps not the direction I would have gone, but, at the end of the day, it doesn't diminish what it does, or how it does it, just how far away I can be when I do it. I can live with it. It'll do 4k, too, albeit only at 30hz. For most that will be fine, but not everyone. Gamers may run into issues here...in fact, lacking 4k 60hz is really the only serious negative some folks might actually have to consider. Perhaps the next generation will feature 4k60hz, or even 4k120hz...or, dare I say, 8k??? I guess we'll see later what the engineers at CKLau are working on for their next killer KVM. As long as 4k30hz is all you need? You're going to love this. ... show more

I am not the smartest person when it come to computers. I have a 6 year old HP desktop and just purchased a new laptop. I wanted to be able to use the same keyboard, monitor and mouse with both. I took a quick look behind my dusty desktop and thought I had VGA connectors so I ordered this switch. When I went to connect it, I found out that I have DVI connectors so I had to order a DVI to VGA adapter. So check your input and output cable requirements before ordering. Once that was done, everything connected quite easily. I followed the directions - that I could understand and ignored the rest. My two computers are now connected to the switch as well as my monitor (HDMI) and my keyboard and mouse. All the wires are tucked out of the way and I just click the mouse twice to switch between computers. It has a lot of other capabilities but I do not have the need nor the intelligence to use them.
