  • Does exactly what it's supposed to
This was by far the best value I saw for a KVM switch that fit my needs (3 monitors, 2 ports, HDMI). The market for KVM switches fitting that description is pretty sparse, and I was a little nervous about going with the lowest bidder. Turns out, there was no need to worry. I set the KVM up in a couple of minutes, and it has functioned perfectly since. Switching is fast and crisp, and there's no observable delay in video, audio, or USB devices. I can't comment on the keyboard/mouse hotkeys for source switching, since I use the wired remote, which has been perfect. The manual is a little rough, but the connections are very intuitive, diagrams are very clear, and responsiveness from the manufacturer/seller on Amazon demonstrates an uncommon level of customer support. The included cables are a nice touch; in addition to the two proprietary HDMI to HDMI+USB+Audio+Mic cables, you get enough regular HDMI cables to handle the remainder of the computer connections, so you only need to provide cables connecting the KVM to your monitors. The form factor is great; it's about as compact as it can possibly be with all of the required connections, and it doesn't generate a lot of heat. I've seen complaints in other reviews that the monitor connections (specifically the proprietary HDMI cable) doesn't work with adapters, but I haven't had any issues with that; I have several adapters and conversion cables (e.g. DVI to HDMI and DisplayPort to HDMI) for my computer connections, and have had no issues (I have not tried using adapters on the monitor connections). I was also able to repurpose some of the included cables (which I didn't need due to use of conversion cables I already had) to connect to the monitors. Overall, I'm very pleased with the performance and the price point. If I need another KVM in the future, I'll be looking at CKLau first. ... show more

  • Update: Dead after a year. Reasonable price for a 2 PC 3 monitor KVM...but it has some drawbacks
Setup was quick and easy, basically plug and play. It worked well initially. As time has gone on (this is written about 4 months after purchase) it is more and more problematic trying to switch between PC's. Specifically the issue is monitors will randomly go to sleep. I find that if the unit is left on for extended periods of time (overnight) this becomes more problematic. Update: 1 year later...it's dead. Audio is absolutely terrible, you'll need a separate audio splitter to run one set of speakers between both PC's I've also noticed as time goes on that bumping the USB plugged into the front will also cause issues with the monitors. Not sure if there is a weak solder inside our not. All that being said, it is one of the few economically priced KVM's that can run 3 monitors. It'll do the job with occasional hiccups. ... show more

  • Great for video, OK for enhanced keyboards, terrible for audio
I've had my fair share of KVMs over the years. 2 port, 4 port, 8 port, etc. From the aspect of what we expect them to do, this one does a pretty good job, with a couple of caveats. First, switching video. This was literally the only reasonably priced unit out there that can switch 3 HDMI monitors between 2 computers. So I was pretty amped to find it at all. And it does that portion of its job very well. I really like that they include the wired remote so you can stash the KVM itself behind your rigs and switch with a single button. Very nice. Next the keyboard thing. Don't get me wrong - the KVM handles switching the input devices (wired) between systems just fine. My issue isn't so much with this box failing in any way, just disappointing. I have a Razer Ornata keyboard, and the Razer software that controls the LED colors and detects the keyboard can't see it any more. The KVM presents a "virtual keyboard" to the systems. While it's not an issue for performance (the keyboard is just as responsive as it was when directly wired) it is a little bit of a let down. But, you can't have everything. Finally, the really annoying part. Audio. I'm going to go ahead and say do NOT use this KVM to switch your audio. Get a splitter (like $5) and run your computers directly into your speakers or headphones. The audio shielding inside the KVM is abysmal and you'll get a persistent whine in your speakers that is like a splinter in your brain. It will literally drive you nuts. I tried moving the cables, switching the cables, etc. No joy. So I just bypassed the switch all together for audio and I'm sane again. All in all, for what you're asking the KVM to do, a pretty good box. Just make other plans for sound! ... show more

  • Works for Office work, but if trying to play games utterly fails.
I got this KVM because an assigned work PC as added to my home office. This was a hope to be able to go back and forth between my work PC and personal PC for most daily things but the KVM constantly has a flickering screen problem or incomplete transitions when going between my PCs. I've been advised to get better video cables and adapters to make it work, but it worked fine until I did a Graphics card update and now it'll constantly flicker when I launch a game, what appears to be happening is loss of video signal to all my monitors depending on where the game window resides. This proves doubly problematic as I work in the games industry so this is happening on my personal PC and my work PC. It did work as expected for awhile and it failing with a simple hardware change is the most disappointing part. I've been attempting to fix the issue with no success and when I reached out to their tech support all I got was to change the cables. ... show more
