Update : 4/18/23 - I contacted customer service directly on their website and provided my Amazon order number and after a little troubleshooting they mailed me a replacement free of charge . I purchased this back in June 2022, my wife is a travel nurse and I work from home / game in my free time .. so not having to have multiple mice / keyboards and one set of monitors sounded great .it took a little bit to get everything set up and working correctly - the KvM switch never recognized my mouse and keyboard (may be on my end where I use a gaming mouse and mechanical keyboard..)and I went back and forth with their support , and never got anywhere . Purchased a usb 3.0 switch as a work around . I tried setting it up again today and now it won’t even power on . For the price I can’t recommend anyone purchase this . ... show more

Review Update 3/20/2023: After writing my review, I emailed CKLau customer service. The responded the next morning and indicated they would send out a replacement unit. I received a new unit in a couple days. I just connected it (3/20/2023) and the new unit seems to be working as expected. I revised my 1 star rating to 5 only because of the excellent customer service. The customer service rep even followed up to ensure I received the replacement unit and that it was working. I really hadn't expected such a quick response and am very pleased with the seller. I purchased the unit for my home office on 9/19/2022. Set up wasn't too dificult but I'm pretty comfortable tinkering with my tech. The unit worked ok for about 3 months. Worked ok = a bit sluggish switching between 2 computers but still better than manually changing the cables on each monitor depending on what I was working on. Around December, one of my monitors started flickering and making a static sound every once in a while. I figured it was a bad cable so I switched out 2 cables (1 from the computer to the unit and 1 from the monitor to the unit). Still kept getting the flicker and static. Switched monitors with one that wasn't flickering and that one started flickering but the other stopped flickering. Switched PC connections and the flickering and static moved to the other PC. Apparently one of the ports is faulty. I tried several different cables on the faulty port and each time the flickering and static was present, so I'm confident the cables are all good. I did the reset instructions from the manual but that didn't work. After half a day of testing the unit, rebooting the computers and monitors, I finally gave up. As I was disconnecting the unit, I got a whif of the unmistakable smell of burning electronics - not too strong, but still a concern. The unit is unplugged now and I will not reconnect it. Now to see how good the warranty and customer service is for this company. I will update my review accordingly. Don't waste your money (or take a chance on frying out your computers). ... show more

I had this KVM in my system for about a week now and am giving up on getting it to work. This review is for the 2-port USB 3.0 Dual Monitor Displayport 1.4 version that advertises 8k @ 30hz or 4k @ 144hz Here are the specs on my two connected systems: 1) Personal PC: Windows 11 PC, Asus Maximus X Code, Intel 8700k, EVGA GeForce RTX 2080Ti graphics 2) Work laptop (HP EliteBook 14") or personal laptop (Lenovo Carbon X1 Extreme G4) connected via a Lenovo USB 3.0 dock) Connected peripherals: Monitor: Gigabyte Aorus FI32U 32" 4k, keyboard: Razer Basilisk V2, 1080P webcam. all Display port cables are 1.4 certified While the KVM does work for the most part, there have been a ton of annoying issues that prevent me from keeping the unit or giving it a good review. While I have had absolutely zero issues with either of the laptops connected via the Lenovo Dock (dock connects to the KVM with a displayport and USB 3.0 cable), my main personal/gaming rig has been a bit of a nightmare As others have mentioned, the standard keyboard and mouse ports don't seem to work very well, particularly with gaming mice like my Razer. Frequent mouse drop outs that would require either rebooting the KVM or unplugging and re-plugging the mouse back in. I switched the mouse to one of the USB 3.0 ports and this improved stability greatly. However, even my basic old Dell USB keyboard (the old mechanical ones from around 2010) would still disconnect frequently. You can hit the button on the front of the KVM to turn the mouse/keyboard inputs into standard USB passthrough ports, which also seems to help stability. Note that this disables all of the hotkeys from the keyboard or the ability to switch KVM inputs via the third mouse button/wheel (which was a nice feature - if it worked with your mouse) So while I was able to stabilize the mouse/keyboard connections, video from my GeForce RTX 2080Ti (with latest drivers) has still been a consistent issue. I am running 3840 x 2160 @144hz, as that is what my monitor can do and CKL says that this KVM can handle it. The monitor does show that it is running at 144Hz, but I will get frequent video dropouts throughout the day. Sometimes the display only cuts out once every few hours, but other times it will cut out every 30-45 seconds for a brief period. If I have just rebooted the KVM, I might not get any video flickering for hours, until I shut down or restart the PC, then the issue starts again. Another big issue is that I cannot get the Bios to display from my main PC. I get no video signal until Windows boots. However, directly connecting the RTX 2080Ti to the same displayport input on the monitor works perfectly, so the KVM is definitely the source or the problem. Last issue I have is that the remote switch just doesn't work well. Sometimes I click the button and things immediately switch. Other times I have to press the button 2-3 times to get it to change over. I was really hoping this unit would be a keeper as it is one of the only 8k/4k@144hz dual monitor capable options out there. While I don't run a dual-monitor setup now, I might want to in the future. The China-based support is a bit of an annoyance too, as it would be difficult for me to get any sort of real-time support/troubleshooting done with the company. Perhaps I received a defective unit, but after a week of constant fiddling, I am giving up on this one and returning it. I'm going to try the single monitor Cable Matters unit out to see if that one is any more reliable. ... show more

    • Stock cables don't support 144hz, but contact support and they'll send you better cables for free

The KVM works well but the cables it comes with are not high quality and would not support 1440p 144hz without occasional glitching. I contacted support and they sent me better shielded cables for free and now the product works great! I just wish it came with better cables from the start.
