(IMPORTANT UPDATE) My previous review stands because I do believe that this watch can be improved a lot more than what it is right now, and I personally look forward to an improved version. I returned the previous one and got a couple of other brands to try them, honestly, quality wise, the CZ WINES. So I decided to get another silver one and I’m keeping it… looks great and it will do what I need it to do for the time being. I honestly expected better just because it’s a citizen and I LOVE everything citizen, but here’s my honest opinion. Pros: It does look nice and the large face makes it easy and clear to read. For the most part it’s accurate in tracking heart rate and sleep. The smart part is subtle and most people won’t notice that it’s anything but a regular watch until they take a very close look at it, which for me personally is a plus. Battery life is pretty good, 10 to 14 days depending on usage, but again, for me that’s perfect. Cons: It is TOO bulky and heavy for a smart watch I feel the band can be better, it’s nice thick silicone, but I don’t like that it starts wide and it narrows drastically as you get closer to the buckle, in my opinion this is a very bulky watch and the band needs more guts to complete the look. Sometimes it’s not quick enough to execute a command when toggling between functions, for example, after reading a notification I would press the home button and it won’t budge from the first time, it takes it a minute to actually go back home and so on. The worst part for ME is the fact that it’s only 3ATM water resistant rating with recommendation for splash only so you can’t even soak it under water…. Any smart watch needs to be able to handle at least swimming pool water in my opinion, that’s what they need to do to track swimming as part of the exercise functions!! Plus, I expect citizen to be a lead in this matter, most of their watches are 10 ATM and are made for swimming and/ or diving…. So that is a HUGE disappointment for ME. I own 4 citizen watches because I just love them and love their quality, but as to this one, I’m not so sure if I want to keep it!! 😏 ... show more

I've tried others of these and this may not be the absolute best for fitness tracking (the amazfit does O2 levels and has better charting, for example) but i accept the trade-off for being an analog watch with actual hands. It's somewhat customizable (though in practice i doubt too many people use this all that much, I just took an existing alternate face layout) and the battery really does give you 2 weeks or more, which is great. It's not perfect - sometimes it freezes a little when using the menus and it can be maddening to get the backlight to come on when you want to - but overall i think this is a great product. ... show more

The band is poorly done. The edges are sharp, and feel overlooked and unfinished. The app need to have the ads removed, it should feel useful instead of like an endless commercial. I own both classic watches and few smart watches. I feel like both sides do many things well, but not all. The classic watch does what it was meant to do, tell time in fashionable manner. Yet, when you give a smart watch a chance, you learn to embrace notifications, app control and fitness, but at the cost of charging every day or other day. Here comes Citizen, with a watch first that has smart features. I was intrigued and totally game to give this a try. The watch [for me at least] was a bit on the small side and heavy too. Usually that kind of weight you attribute to a much larger watch. It looked kind of small on my wrists, but I a tall guy. The watch charged relatively quickly too [under 2 hrs.]. As a watch, it's the pedigree and classic approach you would expect of Citizen watch. Where I saw cracks in the presentations comes when it attempts to be a smart watch. The app is super easy to install and figure out. Where I had issues was the visibility of the watch. You cannot [at the time of this review] change the menu background colors. I would have preferred lighter colors which would have made way easier to read then exclusively black backgrounds. I wear glasses, but my eyesight is not too bad. I am able to read my Samsung Smartwatch with no issues and this CZ watch share the same screen dimensions too. I also noticed a lag in response time whenever you would press the navigation buttons or selection button. I updated the firmware, but still noticed this happening. I would let's say select music player, and by the time the watch caught up it would open some entirely different which was annoying. The pedometer is not very accurate and the fitness options are way limited. It was just too many things to ignore for me to keep this watch. The lack of customization and readability was definitely the last straw. What good is watch you can't read properly. I would say, Citizen, don't give up on this hybrid idea. However, take your time to develop the software and add the necessary features that will help blind the divide among watch and smart watch. I hope this review helps! ... show more
