I switched to a fairly cheap solar watch a number of years ago because I was tired of changing batteries. I wanted to upgrade to a better watch and settled on this one. This watch looks much better in person (and I liked how it looked in pics) - I can't put my finger on why. The orange and white and off-white and black all come together very nicely. The band is heavy-duty but very comfortable. It seems to keep time without a hitch. I don't track if it loses time - I don't ever need it to be accurate to the second. But I love the look, and it feels good to have a substantial, high-quality watch on my wrist. ... show more

First off I'd like to talk about the weight of this watch. I personally like a heavy watch, and that it is. When I move my arm I can actually feel it on my wrist. Additionally the watch itself is large and girthy. As a result it's extremely easy to read. What are the date is a little hard to read in low light. This is by no means a deal-breaker for me personally. I chose to go with a NATO band as opposed to the stock band included with the watch. The included band is very good quality, however. Overall I'm very impressed what's a build quality in the feel of this heavy watch on my wrist. I'm a stickler for the facts, so I did emerge the watch in about 2 inches of water, how long is it to soak for about 5 minutes. It was in fact waterproof. I also tested it in a dark room and the hands do glow, but only for a very limited time. Within in a couple of hours the glow of the watch hands can no longer be seen in the dark. I like field watches and wanted something that was easy to read, has the date, and just a no-nonsense kinda watch. I looked around and couldn't really find anything that I liked locally and was looking for something in the 40-45mm case size range. This one caught my eye! Really like the look. I do have a bigger wrist and I'm using the last hole on that nylon strap - great strap but I think I will change it to nato strap so I'll have more wiggle room for adjustments. ... show more

If you like a very large thick watch its OK. The good: easy to read, water proof, nylon band is ok in the water. The bad: I find it much thicker than expected, I'm always hitting things with it. The sides are absolutely straight front to back so that accentuates the thickness and makes it more likely to catch things. Overall I was disappointed since there is no reason for it to be so thick.
