  • Incredible watch for an unbeatable price
Color: Stainless/ Blue Dial
Beautiful dial -- the subtle texture surrounding the chronograph dials shines through when there's ample ambient sunlight. The sapphire crystal gives it a super clean and polished look. I am scared of buying lower quality crystals from now on. I have always been a leather strap person, but the metal bracelet look on this one is incredible. No doubt I will be buying more metal bracelets in the future. The date and 24 hr function is quite useful on a daily basis. The stopwatch function of the chronograph is slowly growing on me as well -- I use it for productivity purposes and not having to check my phone's screen is a big benefit. (Haven't really used the tachymeter, so can't comment on the utility aspects of that.) One thing for which I have to applaud Citizen is the accuracy. It has been over a month, and the watch has not lost a single minute after the initial synchronization with the iPhone's digital watch. Also, all the hands align perfectly with the hour and minute markings. I have been complimented every time I've worn it in social settings. I'd recommend buying it if this fits within your taste profile. ... show more

Got this for my husbands 30th birthday. It’s been a year and this has held up magnificently. Really compliments a guys outfit and looks great casual or dressed up.

  • Great value, nice style
Color: Stainless/Green Dial
This watch is really very impressive all things considered. I bought it because my very expensive Omega Sea Dweller died suddenly while traveling and it will be months before I will be in a position to send it in for repair. I am a WIS, must have a watch, and have always been curious about the Citizen ECO-Drive, so now was an ideal opportunity to try one. It is not really fair to compare a $200 watch with a $6,000 one, but since both are chronographs; in terms of form, fit and function they are similar enough. The Citizen, which is quartz based, is expected to be more accurate in absolute terms, although the Omega, with the Co-axial escapement, is very consistent, which mechanical watch people will appreciate. In terms of reliability, I actually own 3 Omegas and this is the first one that has ever given me trouble in over 35 years of daily use. I expect the Citizen will be reliable as well. The Omega is much more heavily constructed with a thicker bracelet, thicker case, heavier crystal, heavier crown, bezel and so forth. The dial and hands are considerably easier to read on the Omega. Functionally the Omega is precise, like you would expect a Swiss watch to be. The pushers click with a definite feel of precision. For example, when the stop watch function is engaged as the large second hand reaches the 12 O'Clock position, the position indicator precisely and instantly clicks to the next count number. On the Citizen by contrast the position indicator lazily comes forward eventually, maybe it takes 5 or 10 seconds to move, but move it does. The hands are thin, though, so all this is hard to see anyway. The crystal is not hazy exactly on the Citizen, but it is not as clear somehow either. Maybe this has something to do with the light gathering function of the ECO-Drive? In terms of convenience, the Citizen ECO-Drive, with the sun powering capability, it takes the cake. This is a very nice watch. It might not measure up in every particular in a head to head comparison to a fine Swiss one, but in terms of practical, every day functionality and value, it more than competes. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • If you're unsure, read this.
Color: Stainless/ Blue Dial
I am pretty amazed with this watch. For the price, I knew there had to be something wrong with it. It just doesn't match the pricing on similar Citizen watches. But after looking for a while, I figured I would take a chance. The watch really is beautiful and has a great shine, which it maintains. I'm notoriously hard on watches and crystals, and wearing daily for several months, I could easily pass this off as unworn. There is just one thing, and I guess this is the catch. I'm guessing these are some older stock, because the watch I received had zero power out of the package. I've owned a lot of the Citizen Eco Drive watches, and I've never seen one completely out of power. Half an hour under a lamp allowed it to start running reasonably well, but there are safety features in place until it charges up. The chronograph won't run and the small second hand only moves every other second. Very, very hard to get a strong initial charge with artificial light, but an hour in actual sunlight will do it. So understand that this is a slightly older model that looks great. It may take a little time to get it charged, but once you do, you'd have to leave it in a dark box for 7 or 8 months to run it out. It's lightweight and comfortable, but doesn't look like a lightweight watch, as some Citizen watches do. All in all, it's my favorite Citizen and favorite quartz watch that I've owned, period. ... show more

  • Great watch
Color: Stainless/ Blue Dial
I like the fact that Citizens watches have eco drive and that I don't have to wind them or replace batteries. The quality and the price are other good attributes of these watches.

  • Accurate, Versatile Watch of Excellent Quality
Color: Stainless/ Blue Dial
This is an amazing offering from Citizen, one of the best value-for-your-money watch brands. Since my burgeoning interest in mechanical/automatic watches, it sees slightly less wear than previously. But because of its versatility, chronograph function, small seconds, and great general design, it remains in the rotation. My two biggest gripes are wear and lume. The main signs of wear are on the bracelet and clasp, as expected (after about 2 years of semi-regular wear). It is a bit more wear than I am happy with but is offset nicely by the distinct lack of wear on the sapphire crystal. The lume also leaves something to be desired, as it is sparsely applied on both the hands and the hour indices (it cannot remotely compete with offerings from Seiko, Orient, etc.). The date complication is an essential for me and the subdials and tachymeter chapter ring are very elegantly integrated while the small bezel complements the style nicely. You really can't beat the eco-drive, either! Edit: added photo on third party strap to show off versatility. ... show more
