Excellent quality glass tank. Very clear and sturdy. Great for a betta or small turtle or lizard but nothing that would climb. No hood included. Small fountain landscape or other desk viewable purpose. Would also make for a great Gundam enclosure or special model kit need not be filled with water. Highly repurposable and quality to make it last.Currently using mine to run some tests on aquarium heaters auto shut-off capabilities but I think it will ultimately hold my 18" die cast Megatron figure. This is a gorgeous rimless tank which feels large enough for a roomy scape. I am starting this as a planted, filterless walstad-style tank, and I think it’ll work great. I paired it with a USB light which clips on the glass, and I think it looks wonderful. The caulking is excellent, and it even comes with a little mat to place it on which fits the tank’s footprint perfectly. I couldn’t be happier.

Other than that, the measurements were correct. It looked very small when I took it out of the excellent, thick foam packaging. Sure enough, I filled it twice with a gallon jug of filtered water, as you see in the photo next to my large tank. The glass itself is crystal clear, and has no bubbles or distortions. The joints aren't mitered, a more expensive touch, but I think $40 is okay for a rimless tank of this quality and size. The black foam mat included isn't so much to prevent slipping or scratching your surface - it's actually called a self-leveling mat. It's intended to even out and absorb any minor imperfections or irregularities in the surface, so the very heavy tank full of water doesn't have uneven stress on any of its joints. If you're new to the hobby, I've been at it since I was a teenager in the 80's. I'm in my 60's now and pairing down, but I've had tanks of all sizes, rimmed and rimless. Rimless are gorgeous, but more expensive. After substrate, plants, heater, filter, air, etc., this won't hold enough water for a Betta. Yes, it's larger than a cup in a store. No, it's not the best life for your little friend. It's not thriving, it's just survival, if that. Turtles? Nope. Just no. The shape is all wrong, let alone the size. Shrimp are possible because they don't mind overcrowding, but do your research first. I know they're cool - I have a zillion of them in my 50 gallon tank, but they require specific water parameters that can be challenging even for seasoned hobbyists to maintain. Some folks may advocate for rice fish because they're small (absolutely not the fish shown in the product photo examples), but in a 2 gallon tank, fish food and waste can quickly degrade the water quality. This is also a tall tank, which means more swimming up and down, not side to side, which doesn't work for active, schooling fish. A lot to consider! Snails are great! Very hardy. They can be fascinating too. We have some red rams horns that are beautiful and very active. Highly recommend them. You can have lots of snails, different kinds too. Just don't fill the water too high, so they don't scoot over the edge. Best thing to do in a nano tank is grow some live plants - an aquascaping tank. So many ways to get creative even with a two gallon tank, which is also a good place to learn. As you can see from my set up with Mrs Aloha Friday, the tanks and creatures are only part of the fun. Plants and decor can create a whole peaceful oasis to escape to in this stressful, hectic life. Rimless tanks are an incredible visual experience. One way to afford them is by going nano. Just keep in mind that the small size limits what kind of living things you put in them. You wouldn't be happy with the bare minimum existence in life either. Reconciling what WE want versus what our creatures want and need can be a real ethical tug of war in our minds! I know, believe me, I've been there - rationalizing and justifying what works to fit my tank set ups. :o)

The glass construction gives this aquarium a clean, simple appearance that makes it easy to see the entire setup. The 2.58 gallon size is compact enough for a small space and can be used for an appropriate small aquatic setup such as certain bettas, shrimp, snails, or plants. I particularly like smaller tanks for creating a little planted display because the glass lets the plants and decorations become part of the room's decor. As with any aquarium, the size and inhabitants need to be matched appropriately, but for a small setup, this is a nice-looking tank.

This tank measures true to size and has very clear glass. It definitely holds water and the silicone is even and strong. It is the perfect size for shrimp, though will need a light and filter and heater. It's great if you want to start up a micro tank. I wouldn't recommend it for bettas, as it is a bit small and without a lid bettas can jump out. This would also work as a holding tank, a medical tank, or somewhere to grow aquatic plants. The glass on the tank is even and level and smooth. The joints are solid. I haven't noticed any scratches or chips. Overall, this is a solid, sturdy, and durable glass tank. Thank you.

This tank was carefully packaged and arrived with no damage. I will be using this for a nano tank. It came with a leveling mat for underneath to protect the rimless tank. The glass is thicker than the other rimless tank I have. I did order the larger size and was a little disappointed that they sent the smaller 2 gallon, but it should be fine for my baby snails.

If this tank actually held 3.17 gallons, I would totally give it 5 stars! The volume works out to less than 2.6 gallons, though. It still works great for my baby guppies and my first live aquarium plant. And so beautifully clear! I love looking at it from across the room. It's good and sturdy, and it came with a thin, black mat the size of the bottom of the tank. I'm not sure if the mat was just extra packing or not, but it makes a good layer of thin coushioning under the tank.
