It has a zipper compartment inside but basically is just one section. It has a detachable beach theme chain so you can use the bag casually at any time. Most definitely I really like the attaing chain of many cute charms. It's a small purse with fabric lining inside, withe just one pocket. It will hold just your days essentials, i, e. lipstick, face powder, money, keys perhaps a small wallet. Neutral in color will accompany many color tones. The exterior shell is a basket weave like a dry feeling basket weave. It is coarse and rough feeling. As appose to another I have with a softer texture. I did find a few fallen flakes from the weaving. Hence, I'm not convinced about its durability and longevity possibility. I haven't had long term usage experience to attest to its prolonged use. This threshold of bag is super cute! It looks so nice with anything And looks just like described in the photos. It's got a nice length of the arm strap to go over your shoulder and stay right under your elbow, but you can adjust it if you want to. It has a nice little decorative chain that hangs in the front which is a nice touch. It's made very well and very durable with a great zipper I might add.
