This Christmas Tree music box looks absolutely magical when completed! There are so many cute little details and the colors are so pretty! After you assemble it, you can wind up the music box on the bottom and it plays music while the Santa rolls by on the rotating on the platform. It looks adorable on a decorative bookshelf. Just make sure you put it up a little higher as little ones will absolutely want to play with this! If this kit is too challenging, pull in a friend or family member to help you and join in on the fun! As a beginner to model kits, I found it to be a little more challenging than I was expecting to put together, but in a good way, not a frustrating way. I assembled it with my 8-year-old niece over the weekend and it was a fun challenge. The pieces are quite fragile as they are made from thin pieces of wood. If you have a younger builder helping you, I recommend you remove the pieces prior to starting the build so they don't try to help and break the pieces. You will need some tools and a work space where you can spread all of your pieces and leave them out. They do send some glue to help you out and you may want to use some of if pieces keep falling out of place. The instructions were a bit challenging to follow at first. Everything is shown in pictures. We had to take our time and look carefully at the pictures to find the pieces we needed and to put them together. Fortunately, the pieces already have all of the color on them so it makes it faster and easier to find what you are looking for. It is best to take your time and not rush while putting this model together so that you don't have to take things apart and put them back together. The kit is supposed to take 2 hours to assemble, but it took us longer. We had a lot of fun putting the princess kit together and it is a great way to spend time with a child or preteen. The only issue with this kit is that the look of the music box is quite young and will appeal to girls ages 5 -12, but the recommended age to assemble is 12+. It is a better choice for younger kids, but they will need some adult or older sibling support to successfully assemble it. This music box makes a fun, unique gift that is perfect to put together as a family for the holidays!

If you've built any of these wooden models before you know that some are much harder than others. I wouldn't put the difficulty of this one too terribly high, but there are certain instructions that are more difficult than others. Overall, a fun little project to assemble. The price is a bit high in my opinion as I have really nice models for just a little more cost; though, it isn't too terribly high. Would recommend for a fun Christmas project for the family to enjoy!

I'm not sure why they called it a puzzle. It's more like a building a model. This was a fun project for my grandson and I. It didn't take long to do. It went together well. We don't take it down to play with it, but we wind it and put it back on the shelf. I don't think extended play time is going to work without some glue. The details are nice. They instructions worked.

Picture directions are difficult to understand. Step 8 was extremely difficult, even with 4 hands. I would've returned it I had not glued some of it together per the instructions. Definitely not for kids, or adults who do not have a boundless amount of patience.

There is more to this puzzle than I thought there would be--more detail, more work, and more functionality too. It's what I would call a kit, not a puzzle, but once I reframed my expectations, I had a lot of fun completing it.
