We are using a tension rod within the window frames for these short pink curtains, so we presumed there would be a little light coming through at the grommets area and at the window sill area. That being said, these curtains keep the room very unlit during the bright southern facing room during the daytime. We have one pair of short curtains on each of the four front windows and one set on the side window. Nice seams and grommet areas. These look wonderful and the color looks true to the online color. My 2 year old daughter loves these (she’s a big fan of pink). They do block out sunlight-I didn’t fully shut them. They feel sturdy with a slight weight to them (without being to heavy). The room doesn’t seem to get cooler or warmer due to them.

I looked around for a some kitchen window curtains. Everything that I found was too long. Now, I'm not good with hemming and sewing. So, I take a look on Amazon. The material is decent and it does block some light, but it’s just not long enough to fully cover my window. If you’re planning to use it alone without layering, you might need to order a longer set. Works okay for smaller windows, but definitely check your measurements carefully.

I've had these almost a year and am very pleased with them! I had a light right outside my window in my old apartment, and these did a great job at minimizing the light shining in. I would say they aren't 100% blackout as strong lights and sunlight will poke through, but overall, it does a great job at keeping it dark in the morning.
