Great for a kid interested in the kitchen! The pen itself doesn’t have heating elements but the tray does. The tray keeps it fairly warm and good for kid use. It comes with limited amount of chocolate so you might want to get more. It is very easy to operate but the tip can dry up between colors and have to be washed. There is a bit more clean out before the next color than I would like. Overall happy. Just needed a heating element in the pen to keep chocolate from setting up.

I purchased this chocolate pen as a gift for my daughter. The first kit I bought did not work as the port to plug in the warming tray was loose. The second kit I bought the port did not transfer any power to the tray so it still does not work. We are returning and will not be exchanging for a third kit. I saw many mixed reviews and was hesitant but because there were a few good reviews I chose to ultimately purchase this product. Aside from the warming tray not working the pen is extremely large, making it seem difficult to use. We did not get to actually use the pen because I packaged everything up to return after finding the warming tray did not work, but it just seems as though it would be hard. I do understand the warming tray is for only keeping the chocolate warm and not actually melting it and we could have at least put the pen to use; however when I bought the product I expected the entire thing to work and not just the pen. Hopefully others have more luck when purchasing, but I definitely would not recommend.

Mine did not come with the warmer, we could fill the pen about halfway and then reheat chocolate while standing the pan on its cap side to get the air bubbles out and then fill the pen up the other halfway. It is a bit tedious, my daughter often didn’t want to wait for the pen and just scooped the chocolate with a spoon, but it was fun to make our own designs.

Grandchildren and I use it to make candy for friends and families gifts. It's a bit of a mess but a lot of fun to see their little faces light up as the pop out their own greations.

The media could not be loaded. I wouldn't say that it is the easiest to use but it's ok. Grandkids enjoyed it and that's what matters. The chocolate that came with it looks like it is old and been melted many times before so we had to buy our own. We also purchased replacement chocolate by the company and that looked the same way as well. I wouldn't purchase again bc I have younger grandkids and its not easy for them. But overall they enjoyed it.

The media could not be loaded. Will admit, I didn't buy this for kids (I don't have kids) but rather for myself! I wanted to spice up my baking...since that's all I seem to be doing these days mid-quarantine. I've drawn some really cute and fun designs to decorate cakes, cookies, cupcakes, you name it with. And coolest part, I think, is that whatever you draw hardens within minutes, so you can pick it up and stick it atop a cupcake or cake for added decor! I've been getting so many compliments on my baked goods lately because of it. So happy I found the Chocolate Pen!

Pen only worked one time and then we had to use baby medicine syringes. Warming tray charging cord only worked one time and then we had to use a different charging cord. Very tedious to warm warm up each chocolate color - have an activity for kids to do while they wait. Kids mostly wanted to just eat the melted chocolate. I guess the positive is that I only spent $16 on it. Get the Easy Chef Chocolate Bar Maker instead - easier for kids and less mess.
