Mine arrived without the brush rest/water dish. It's not worth the hassle to go through a replacement and wait for a new set which may or may not contain the brush rest. I'll figure something else out. However, it makes very bold lines that are well defined and easy to see the strokes, the practice sheets also had a small tear in my set, not the biggest issue but I have to be careful not to load much water there. It's a decent set, good for the dexterity practice, but the brush is shedding hair and spreading lines where I don't want them. Maybe that was user error, I'll look into how to fix it. Overall not bad for the price, but it doesn't get full stars because a part was missing. ... show more

Gave it to friend who wanted to practice calligraphy but couldn't because of small kids in the house. they loved it! when my friend leaves the room to go to bathroom, they no longer have to worry about kids "try the thing out on the wall".
