I had to descale, but this was fantastic quality. Fresh, soft, succulent and buttery flesh. Finding it on sale at 32/lb is a great opportunity to try it!

    • Need time to remove scales and bones, but otherwise great
I bought 1 pound. The cut was beautiful, but there were so many scales and bones in the single filet. It took a lot longer to prepare than the fish market I buy sea bass from. It was very fresh and tasted great, but I won't be in a hurry to buy from whole foods.

    • Something fishy is going on
Whole Foods fish is average to great sometimes. But at other times, it leaves a lot to be desired at my Whole Foods location. I guess it depends on the location you purchase your fish from. One thing is for sure, when I order fish from my local store, I get some of the weirdest cuts. Sometimes the fillets are super thick and that other times I get small pieces of random leftover cuts that were a part of other orders. Basically, no consistency at all. So unless I am picking the fish out myself, I will not buy any cuts for home delivery. But the quality is usually average and sometimes above average to great. ... show more

This is a delicious fish, kudos for carrying it. Sold with scales on, so invest a few dollars in a descaler tool. So easy to cook, just steam it for a few minutes and drizzle with melted butter and lemon.
