I got this for an 03 Passat GLX, I wanted to spruce up the interior and this does a great job at doing just that. Installation is ridiculously easy, it is universal after all but, I will say that on the 03 Passat the shift mechanism requires lifting over pushing in (like my other auto) to shift from park to drive. As a result I had to thread a screw through the loop in the shift lock mechanism so it could have something to grab as I pulled up in otder to get into drive. I feel like this is what a lot of people are getting stumped on when complaining that it doesn't work. It feels great, comfortable in the hand and in my case with my daily (03 Passat GLX) which has both an auto and manual mode - Shifting in manual mode with this is actually smoother and much more enjoyable. It adds a bit of excitement when in manual mode that the car definitely needed. The boot cover however is a tad small for my particular application which is not that big of deal, but it still looks great. I'm finding that the shifter is actually quite hefty and doesn't bend so the quality is there and for the price I'd definitely recommend this for others with autos. It looks very nice and premium quality, but sadly I had to return it because it is hard to remove the one stuck in the shift. Highly recommend using this shift ONLY if you have your shift handle easily removed.

Quality isn’t terrible for the price although don’t care for how loose the knob is once installed, the boot is to small as well so had to modify to somewhat fit.

It could be heavier but I like it, it adds a lil bit of sauce to the drive. Had it for roughly a year now and I enjoy it. I got a manual so having to build muscle memory on hand placement.
