2/11/21 UPDATE: When I posed the question about from where the "imported" ingredients were sourced, it was less than an hour or so later I heard back from the company. (You should still be able to see that interaction in the Questions section.) I was very impressed with the speedy reply -- even more impressed that imported means sometimes Canada and New Zealand, but NOT China. Thanks so much for that quick reply and comforting confirmation. My dog also now loves this food and I feel great about supporting this company with high quality chow. Give it a try. Thank you! ORIGINAL POST: I purchased this dog food because of the great reviews and reported ingredients and it just arrived. However, I was dismayed to see the notice about it being made with "domestic and imported" ingredients. I would not have necessarily worried if they had stated which ingredients came from which countries. Curious they kept that info from the product images. Also, I did not expect to see so many ingredients listed. I counted about 58 !!! granted about 1/2 looked to be for the vitamins. But it still seems high. And curious here too the ingredients list was also not shown on the product images. I will call the company and update my review when I get more info. We have been feeding our 1 year old Dane this since we got him at 10 weeks. After deeply researching kibble, this one has the best calcium, phosphorus, and protein, for the best price out there. Our boy loves it and had never had any stomach issue with it. I’ll be sad when I have to leave it... Update: WOW... What happened to the price of this food? We were paying $23.99/28lbs bag up until now. We are switching to adult food now, so it doesn't really matter anymore... Thank God... It is great food though, he loved it and he grew slow and correct. ... show more

Years ago my husband and I had a young dog that we had been feeding Kibbles & Bits. All of the sudden she stopped eating. We thought it was a fluke, and if we kept her bowl filled she'd eventually eat what we gave her. After two days of not eating she finally did and immediately threw up. We talked to our local pet store owner. She suggested we try Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul dog food. She said brand was started after the makers of the book series got all kinds of letters from readers about their pets having liver and kidney failure from the additives amd preservatives in their dogs' food. Our dog Angel tried it and Loved it. We've never fed any of our dogs anything else. She lived to be 17 and 1/2 years old. ... show more

This product is ok. For the price I might expect more from it. The large breed puppy is eating it and growing well.. She had trouble initially having loose stools while transitioning. Found out puppy gi tract is sensitive to stimulus and needs at least 6 hrs to fully absorb and digest food properly. No fault to the product. She should not be overfed.. That cause loose stools. Check with your vetbif puppy has issues otherwise be diligent to allow time between feedings and take out according to puppy needs. ... show more

Dog likes the food ! If he’s every taking longer to eat the food or I suspect he may be getting bored I just mix it with some water :) never had any issues with this brand or food with my last 3 or 4 deliveries of it. :)
