My wife had an unexpected c-section due to the little one not falling into position during labor, so we had to camp out on the first floor of our house. We bought a big lumbering bassinet for the upstairs nursery that I was adamantly not going to even attempt to haul downstairs. Overall, this was easy to install, easy to clean when accidents happened, and the little one had no problems with it whatsoever with sleeping in it. We still use it frequently down stairs when we need to put him down for a nap or need a place for him while he's near. This bassinet is not made for active maneuvering, however, and while I had no issue picking up the full bassinet with baby in it to move around, my wife was not able to maneuver it very easily. ... show more

Bought this one because most others are ugly or unsafe. This seemed to have the safety features (mesh siding, doesn’t attach to bed) and was more stylish with a vaguely mid century look. We liked this one but started noticing that our newborn, despite being swaddled, would kinda startle awake because there’s a slight swing to the bassinet, it’s a bit like a hammock on the frame. This is handy in other ways bc I could reach from the bed and lightly swing him. I do wish it was bigger bc our newborn is on the large end of the curve and already barely fits at two months, so we’ve changed this to the living room for daytime naps where he’s supervised. ... show more

Ordered this for impending October arrival after extensive research into a mesh bassinet that isn't ugly, isn't bulky with humongous sticky out legs to trip over, is safe and comfy for baby, but looks stylish/minimal, and can be moved room to room if needed. This ticks all those boxes, was so easy to put together and take down. So far so good, hopefully baby will like it too. I've deducted a star from my review as the Serene color is not really beige as it appears in the photos or on the Chicco website - it is more of a very pale grey than the canvas beige. We purchased this item after being unable to get our baby to sleep in another bassinet. The bassinet is light weight, easy to assemble and portable. This is one I have traveled with (by car) multiple times. It is a bit heavy and cumbersome for airplane travel. The mesh sides helped to keep my son from getting too hot or too cold. We used it in our room for 4 months (our son sized out of it) and it fir perfectly against one wall with the changing table right next to it. The included cushion/mattress fits standard bassinet sheets so you can get whatever sheets you want in addition to using the enclosed cover. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

This bassinet is simple in style, easy to assemble and easy to clean. Our little guy loves it and sleeps soundly. Only complaint, its bag doesn’t seal at the top which will make checking it at the airport difficult. Definitely recommend Chicco add a zipper or singe to the top of the bag for more security when traveling. ... show more

This was fairly simple to assemble. We have a small space in our room to fit a bassinet and this squeezed in perfectly. The mattress cover comes off and washes up pretty well. Unlike the storage pocket on the end for an extra sheet and burp cloth for easy access in the middle of the night.

Update: took this out to use with our second and love it just as much as the first time! Sturdy, easy setup/takedown and solid sleep surface! We’ve been using this bassinet daily for naps and overnight sleep for over 2 months now and absolutely love it. I was initially looking for a simple bassinet with mesh side walls but a solid mattress unlike many of the other portable bassinets out there. I also didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy bassinet and took a chance on this one. I have not regretted it for one moment! The bassinet itself sets up in minutes. Pop the legs on and it’s ready to go. Once set up its quite sturdy and because of the way the sleeping area hangs it allows you to rock the baby if needed. It comes with one sheet but I ended up sewing a few for myself since the one it comes with is polyester and a boring ivory color. The mattress is covered in a plastic outer which makes cleanup a breeze. The pocket at the end is very useful for storing extra sheets. While it doesn’t have wheels, I’ve found it is able to slide pretty easily over out berber carpet in our bedroom. It is very portable and travels nicely in the bag that comes with it. The fabric unzips very easily for cleaning as well. My son has had no trouble sleeping so it seems like the mattress is comfortable enough for a 2 month old. The only thing I have noticed is that if I don’t have the hard portion of the mattress perfectly positioned in the base of the sleeping area he sometimes tends to gravitate towards the lower side, though it is not a noticeable slant by any means. He’s a squirmer when he sleeps and it really has not been a huge issue. Two months of using for many hours a day and the bassinet looks and functions just as well as it did the day we got it. ... show more
