If I had to describe the scent ... maybe a citrus sort of aroma for the first second or so, then it levels out into more earth-ish tones, balanced out with hints of flowers. I ordered this fragrance for my husband, and I don't typically write reviews, but Onyx exceeded my expectations, so I had to comment. It is warm without being sweet or heavy and it has this bright uplifting quality at the same time. Its masculine without being too musky or overpowering. There is an indescribable quality to it that I can only explain as; it is a scent you want to be around. And it smells just so clean, natural and appealing. If, like my husband, you are someone who likes a subtle, sophisticated scent that doesn't overpower the space you are in but is subtly present then this one is ideal. We both love it!! What an incredible cologne!! I ordered one each for my husband and son as gifts. My husband loved it. Solid tinted glass bottle looks classy & elevated out on display.
