I opened the package and was very surprised to see these two small pieces of pretty wood that had been used as shims to stop my lumber moving around in the box. Nice touch! I'm sure I can use them for handles for a small box or something. Almost more impressed by them than by the very nice cherry I actually paid for! I am so glad this product exists. This wood is surprisingly pretty durable and can be used for a variety of purposes. I actually used it to frame a patch of concrete I needed to fix, though I wouldn't necessarily recommend using it for that, since the boards aren't quite big enough for that type of project. Nevertheless, the wood is really good quality and I can imagine people using this for small wood projects at home. ... show more

Of the 4 boards 3 were darker cherry nice grain farly straight, the 4th was pritty bad. The 4th board was wrarped, light colored, little grain and had a big indent in the middle. Overall, I was able to make a beatiful flip up countertop, but I was unable to get the whole indent out of the 4th board even with planing. You pay over $10 a square' but in a pinch I made it work. I'm a retired cabinet maker and have dealt with old and exotic wood along with newer wood for 40 years. I think 4 stars is a far rating for the average woodworker. Without a planer or a hd belt sander the average woodwork would not have made this work. ... show more
