Don’t know why I didn’t buy one of these a long time ago. It’s that kitchen tool you didn’t know you needed but do. Even if you don’t pit cherries regularly like I do, for that one time the price is worth having it in hand. It’s quality. I expect it to last me a lifetime. It saved me time. Super safe in comparison to the normal pairing knife is worth an every penny. Pie season is going to be a breeze. Beware It does squirt juice on occasion.

It's a little slow doing one at a time, but it works great. It does exactly what you expect it should. Minimal damage to the fruit and the pit comes out clean. I used it for cherries, but it should work fine for larger olives too. It was exactly what I needed to feel comfortable giving my toddler cherries for the first time.

I had no idea this utensil existed. It is a nice heavy weight and works perfectly. Just make sure you point it away from you as it squirts when pitting the cherry.

This cherry/olive pitter is great for pitting small to medium size olives. A Kalamata olive is the perfect size olive to pit with this tool, although it is not suitable for jumbo sized olives, as another reviewer has mentioned. It is a quality stainless steel tool that should last many years. It actually pits more smoothly than the olive pitter I purchased in Italy 20 years ago, and that tool was pretty good.

I'm picky with hand tools and that translates to kitchen utensils. I've been baking a lot of cherry pies during COVID SIP, and got tired of using a boba straw to push the pits out of cherries, or a knife to slowly remove them. I looked at the numerous plastic options on here and just wasn't a fan of any of them, seemed too cheap/poorly made. I took a risk on this item, and it's great! Sturdy, hidden spring mechanism making use a breeze, high polish chrome finish, no slop in the hinge. One pie down and I love it.

It works just fair. The pin that pushes the pit out isn’t centered on the base, so about 1/3 the time it doesn’t push the pit out. Also, it’s allowed to close too far, so you also smash the cherry. I used it on the large cherries and also large green olives and it just doesn’t perform well enough to rate high. Wish it did as Im still looking
