I am a first time user with one of these types of tools. Granted, it was pretty straightforward and not rocket science, but I was hesitant on getting one. Originally, I had been looking at the same type of tool but for multiple cherries. For my first time, I am glad I got the single cherry model. This cherry pitter is about as big as a lemon/lime hand juicer. It’s pretty easy to use; just put a cherry in the slot and squeeze down on the handle. To make things easier for me, I did take the stems off after I washed them so that it wouldn’t get in the way of the plunger part. I don’t know why I thought it would have a spike to push the pit out. The part that pushes the pit out is blunt and metal. Now the tool itself feels pretty sturdy and works well for what it does. I do feel like it could use some improvement somewhere and it does feel a bit clunky at times, but that’s just nitpicking. While I used it, I noticed that the pit would come flying out the bottom so keep a bowl or something underneath it to catch the pits. It takes the pit out just fine, but also leaves a gaping hole in the cherry. Sometimes it would break off bits of the cherry in addition to the pit. Not to mention that cherry juice can spray on your clothing and surroundings. All that being said, it is very easy to use and when you build up momentum, you can pit several cherries at a time. The cleanup is quick as a simple wipe down and rinse of the device is all it takes to take the mess off. Finally, it has a pull tab like the kind some tongs have that allow you to lock it closed to fit better in your drawer. I am glad that I picked this tool up and definitely recommend it for cherry lovers.

The cherries came ready on my trees and I managed to get the few the birds didn’t get to first. My first time using a cherry pitter, I was surprised how this one easily punched out the pit without crushing the cherry. Very little flesh goes to waste. On small cherries it is a bit difficult and time consuming to get the cherry back out of the pitter. Popping a pitted cherry in you mouth makes for convenient eating, but frankly, for fresh eating, it is less trouble to separate the seed in you mouth than to use this tool. However, if were making a pie, jam, or cooking with fresh cherries, this tool would be very handy.

This little gadget rocks! It's made well. It works effortlessly although occasionally it seems to get a little stuck right at the initial push down. It pits cherries pretty well. Sometimes the bottom of the cherry is stuck to the pit or a little round part of the cherry bottom is in the pile of pits. We just pick those out and eat them. Next time I use this, I'm going to try placing the cherry in upside down to see if that leaves more of the cherry intact. It's very easy to place the cherry in the hole and simply press down to have the pit spit out of the bottom. I did try using this on olives and it wasn't very successful due to the narrower olive shape. Cleaning is a cinch. I place it in the top rack of the dishwasher and it comes out great. I don't know if it's labeled dishwasher safe, but I've washed it many times in the dishwasher and it's still good as new.

During the last cherry season, I cut pits out with a knife and hands covered with cherry juice dripping all over. Not this year, I have this cherry pitter! It is made of stainless steel, beautifully painted red. The pitter fits comfortably in my hand. The cup area, that holds the cherry, is made of soft silicone to prevent damage to the cherry. A stainless-steel tube plunger centers on the cherry in the cup. A quick push on the top handle of the pitter ejects the pit out of the bottom of the cup into a waiting bowl. Easy, quick, neat, no juice. The cherry itself is still intact-pittless. This cherry pitter works perfectly. It is a great value. It is a great work saver.

This tool is an ultimate game changer no more eating around that annoying seed when it comes to my cherries and green olives love it so much I use it all the time and just bought a bunch of cherries yesterday because my family loves them so we'll be poking out a ton of cherry seeds today and it works wonderful super easy and smooth it pushes the seeds out no problem it also does just fine being run through the dishwasher

This cherry pitter was just what I was looking for. It works exactly as I imagined it would. I have been looking forward to Rainier cherries and this very easily punches the pit right out. It is easy to use and cleans up quickly. Since I don't need to pit that many cherries at a time, I can't tell how many cherries I can pit in a minute, but it is very easy. It only pits one cherry (or olive if you choose) at a time, but it is built well for use after use and the price makes this quite economical. I recommend this product.
