I got this because it appeared the chrome on my 2020 kawasaki voyager was pitting. I was using my old standby and wasn’t helping so i got this. luckily, it wasn’t pitting just road tar (whew)! However, this stuff is great melted the road tar, and the chrome looks great!!!

    • Cleaned Stainless Steel Running Boards
Style: Heavy Metal Polish
I bought a 2011 Mercedes GL450 which was mostly in great condition. Except the stainless steel running boards had some oxidation and long present dirt in places. I am not a detailing pro so I was a bit afraid to use this. The running boards are covered in oval rubber tabs and I was worried that they would either get ruined or obstruct the cleaning of the stainless steel. A sudden waive of bravery overcame me and I finally decided to try this stuff out. But, I didn't have a lot of time. So I decided to work on the worst spot first. This was at the very front of the running board, where it doesn't get foot traffic and is more likely to collect rain water and debris from the front tires. I applied this by hand, using only a microfiber towel. With very little rubbing, it took off a considerable amount of the oxidation and worn in debris. Before using this Chemical Guys Heavy Metal polish, I tried another highly touted polish (Renegade Products USA - EZ Red Sprayable Metal Polish) and it was largely ineffective. Given the little effort and time I put into this, I am very pleased with the outcome. When I have some more time, I will use this Heavy Metal Polish to polish the running boards with my random orbital polisher and spend a bit more time on the stubborn stains. Once I do that, I will update this review. But I suspect using the ROP will only result in a higher rating. ... show more

Maybe I was just naive. I have a nice set of aluminum custom rims on my truck for about ten years. At first they were easy to clean but as the years rolled by they became more and more dull and impossible to clean. Eventually my shiny wheels were very pitted and almost black and it wouldn t come off no matter what I did. So I tried this product and nothing. I scrubbed and I scrubbed ..oh sure it got down to a certain level but it will never ever ever bring back the original brightness and shine. What this product should come with is a simple test to see if your rims are just roached in the first place and NOTHING will ever bring it back no matter how much of this stuff you buy. ... show more
