It is an extra large tray (the smaller was sold out at the time I ordered this) which actually worked well as I could fit 4 side dishes on it at Thanksgiving. I use this every weekend when im hosting and it’s honestly been amazing. The size is perfect to fit a bunch of dishes at once and it looks really nice on the counter or buffet. It heats up fast and then I just keep it on low and everything stays warm for hours without burning. Super easy to clean too, I just wipe it down after. The handles stay cool which is nice when moving it around. Such a lifesaver for parties and holidays, I dont know how I hosted without it before.

I purchased this electric warming tray for Thanksgiving 2024, and it was absolutely fantastic! It kept all my dishes warm throughout the meal, making hosting much easier. I had initially seen rolling mat-style heating trays all over social media, but I was worried—despite claims otherwise—that they might get too hot underneath and damage my countertops or wooden furniture like my buffet. After some research, I found this traditional, sturdy warming tray, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. This tray is thoughtfully designed. It stays cool underneath, so there’s no risk to your surfaces. The temperature controls are easy to use, it’s simple to clean, and the build quality is excellent. It feels durable and well-made, unlike the silicone, roll-up versions I’ve since seen post-Thanksgiving videos of, which unfortunately did damage some countertops. This tray exceeded my expectations, and I’m confident it will last for years to come. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and safe warming tray. This review is for 21x16 Chefman Electric Warming Tray. This has been a blessing for the issues that can rise when guests arrive at various times. It is easy to use, elegant and keeps the food warm. The adjustable temperature makes it easy to modulate serving needs as time passes. The size is ideal for holding three medium to small heat tolerant serving trays. Most of our serving was for 4-6 people. It has a glass top, I am glad I did not notice this at the time, it would have made me less inclined to make the purchase. The extra gentleness while putting it away and storing it is well worth the effort, plus the glass top turned out to be a blessing, it makes it so easy to clean. We had spills of rice, gravy etc. Once the unit is cold, a sponge with dish soap and a wipe with a wet towel, took care of everything. I keep it in its original bag and box, and use the original side foams (I use duck tape to re-enforce the box). It stores well under the bed. The only issue that needs attention is that the bottom of the unit heats-up, it has to be placed on fire resistant material. We set it on top of an old barbecue outdoors, on top of the stove (when not in use) or extra large cookie sheet, or granite countertop indoor. We used it on many occasions and have not had any issues with the knob or the way it heats.

It was a bit larger than I expected. It may have took a little time to full warming temperature but it did a wonderful job keeping multiple foods warm. I would have liked to have separate controls for at least 2 portions since it was so large.

Not allowed for Shabbos - Not allowed for Shabbat Warming tray for shabbat/Shabbos must not have a thermostat - do not use it on Shabbat - do not use it for Shabbos - it is like cooking on shabbos/shabbos and this transgressing shabbos. A "Shabbat Hotplate" is aptly named: It is used to keep food hot on Shabbat. Because of its low heat level, this equipment usually cannot actually cook food. In addition, in order to maintain the heat it is often necessary to cover the pots with one or more layers of cloth or other material. The hotplate maintains a constant low heat output which is not influenced by whether more or less pots are placed on it (since there is no thermostat present). Some of the newest models of hotplates have a dual setting, one for cooking and one for maintaining a low heat level. This type of hotplate is more complicated in halachic terms. Why is halachic approval needed for a Shabbat hotplate? First, there should not be a thermostat controlling the temperature according to a dial setting, because if a thermostat is present placing a pot on the hotplate has a direct effect on the heating element. In addition, there should not be any way to regulate the heat output using an external switch or dial. If such a dial exists, The Zomet Institute insists that it be covered to render it inaccessible on Shabbat. Ashkenzim allow putting hot solid food on a hotplate on Shabbat only if something is placed between the hotplate and the pot, such as an inverted plate or the cover of a pot or a jar.
