  • Great quality but Fender took a big shortcut...
This is a nice Fendersk bass with active circuit, hot DM pickups and 3 band EQ. The bad side any buyer should consider is that Fender factory took a shortcut and didn't bother installing shielding in the pickup and knob cavities which make this bass noisy... very noisy like a combination of single coil hum with precision bass humbucker noisy. Sorry, I returned after a day because this bass is not worth the money considering Fender could have bothered to shield cavities and this bass would have been worth much more. Would probably work as a gig bass with noise gate but will not pass well for studio work... too noisy. ... show more

  • Previous person review lol
So the only problem with the bass is it needs some shielding in the cavities lol. Every bass I've bought from squier to ibanez, sterling, schecter the first thing I do is apply copper shielding tape in the cavities and back of the pickguard. A real musician knows how to set up and repair or upgrade their own instrument. No offense but a $900 bass isn't going to be perfect I had a schecter riot 4 I'm satin aurora burst a $1100 bass and first thing I did was put a little more shielding, change the strings, polish the frets and set it up. You sir might as well stick to guitar hero n pretend to me a musician ... show more
