I like our new meat thermometer so far. It has a few features that make it better than the last one we had: 1) a separate on-off button so I can leave the thermometer open without running the battery down. 2) the thermometer makes a loud sound when the target temperature has been reached (so I don't even have to look at the reading). 3) it uses 2 AAA batteries rather than coin-style batteries. And the price is very reasonable. Time will tell if it lasts longer than the last one (3 years). ... show more

Simply put you stick it into food it reads food temperature let it sit for at least three seconds for accurate reading let it sit a little longer 10 seconds for perfect reading it’s a little difficult to do while food is on the grill in your hand is above a grill that is 400° and rising but it gives an accurate reading and it truly is a game changer very affordable very cheap not cheap quality though I recommend it also has preset modes for all types of meat and tells you when to take it off and what temperature is well done and what temperature is rare ... show more

Works great, however, horrible for checking meat temps on a grill. You have to slide meat to the edge so your hand isn’t over the grill hot surface. A longer handle and sensor fork would be better for grill use. Temp reading fast, easy to clean. Easy to use.

Over the last few years I've bought several of these for use at different bbqing/grilling locations & one for my older granddaughter. For us, where more than one temp goal is available, the lower one works for how we like our meat cooked. So far, touch wood, none have failed & they are easy on batteries if you remember to turn them off when done. ... show more

This is my fourth one. I still have the first one I purchased. I use it all the time. I purchased 3 more and gave them of Christmas gifts, Was a big hit . They all loved them . Absolute must when cooking chicken, When the chicken reaches 165 degrees its done . No more chicken or hamburgers that are not done in the center. Hamburgers 160 Well Done. You can cook your stakes to your degree of doneness, Rare 125 deg., Med Rare 135 deg. Med Well 150 deg., Well Done 160 deg., Select the type of meat you are cooking. Insert the probe in the center and read the temperature. Pull the meat when you reach the temperature you want . No more guessing. ... show more
