I can't speak for the durability of it, but I can say it fit really well and wasn't hard to install. It should work much better than just the cover. I won't know for sure until I get it outside and use it, but quite happy with the purchase.

I’m happy, but not thrilled with it. It had a ding in the top, right on the seam, so I can’t even fix it. The side screws aren’t long enough. They function, however they need to be about 1/8” longer or a little more. I am unable to use the supplied washers because they prevent the nuts from being attached (screws are too short). Product came packaged sloppily with missing hardware. Hardware that did arrive was 50/50 in a bag and loose in the box. Most importantly it did not fit my grill. I purchased the 36” model from Walmart and the hood was several inches too large. The screws provided couldn’t reach the hood after they were attached to the bracket. The lid/cover does exactly what we need it to! It keeps the water off of our blackstone. We also have a canvas cover that goes over the whole thing but water was still seeping through that! It is also great to pull down to help cook the food!
