This is a really nice messenger bag that should work for most of today's laptops. My 14-inch laptop swims in this case, making me think that even a 17-inch laptop will easily fit. I like how the lightly padded laptop compartment provides some protection while not taking up so much space that fewer types of laptops will fit. The fact that the bottom of the bag opens up to a couple of inches means I can carry more on days when that is needed. I also like the long zip compartment in the middle section of the bag. My phone fits into the phone sleeve nicely, but I worry about carrying my phone in a pocket that does not close completely. Additionally, there are two front pockets that are under the flap that is secured with a clasp, but the pockets themselves are open, so depending on what you put in there, if the bag turns sideways or upside down, your stuff may fall out.

This Champion laptop bag features a roomy unzippered inner compartment with a separate padded compartment for your laptop. The padding is about 1/8 inch thick on both sides. The bag has the following pockets: • Shallow zippered pocket on front flap (for pens?) • Deep unzippered pocket on back • Cell phone pocket on back • 6-inch deep unzippered pockets on front of inside compartments The bag is 4 inches wide at the bottom (see photos) and has a shoulder strap. That’s it! This is a very lightweight bag, weighing in at just 10.1 ounces. (I weighed it.). I was very excited to get this Champion laptop bag! It is not often that Vine reviewers get to review a brand-name item. This bag is much lighter than any other laptop bag I have owned over the last 40 years. It has enough pockets to be functional, and it should be light and easy to carry. But I am not likely to use this bag in any potentially stressful situation (rain, crowds, long walks, hard travel). Here’s why: • Most of the pockets—including the crucial inner compartment that protects the laptop—are unzippered. Rain, snow, and dirt can enter through the top. Smaller things can easily slip out and get lost. What’s more, zippered compartments add stability to the structure as well as full protection from the environment. So does this bag protect your laptop and sundries? Not so very well! (The shallow pocket on the front flap is zippered. So at least your pens will be safe.). • The padding that protects the laptop is very thin—only about 1/8 inch thick. I would not trust my precious laptop to this bag except in the lightest duty situations. • The cell phone pocket holds a cell phone securely, but with part sticking out at the top. (See photos.). I would feel a lot more secure with a zippered pocket that enclosed the whole phone. • The shoulder strap, although adjustable, is absolutely minimal. It is held up by a thin plastic ring on either side. (See last photo.). The attachment point of the strap, as any experienced traveler knows, is the weak point in most bags that usually fails first. Hard plastic cracks easily, and these rings are thin to begin with. There are no metal clips, so this shoulder strap does not swivel. Most crucially for me (next to the durability of the rings) is the lack of a padded piece for the shoulder. This shoulder strap will be awkward and eventually painful to carry and will not likely last long. Laptop/Messenger bags can be had for $12-$46. Most of this type and weight cost around $15-$20. For $25-$30, you can get a wide bag with multiple zippered pockets. At the list price of $25.27, this laptop bag is a little expensive for what it is. (They charged Amazon Vine members $30.38. So even they know it is overpriced.). You are basically paying an extra $5-$10 for the Champion name. This laptop bag is very lightweight and mostly decent quality, but minimal. The padding in thin, most of the compartments are not fully enclosed, and the light duty shoulder strap is held up by thin plastic rings. This laptop bag will work well enough in the easiest situations. But it will not securely protect your laptop during bad weather or hard travel. You can find far better laptop bags at this price. This 16” x 14” x 5” Champion messenger bag is a good lightweight option for my “work at the cafe” needs and also for travel. The design is functional, with a classic black tech bag fabric, a number of pockets and snap-buckle closures that feel secure. The interior has branded lining and a lightly padded laptop sleeve that fits a laptop or large iPad comfortably. There is also a smaller internal zippered pocket. Note that the lining is somewhat crinkly sounding. There’s also a long but fairly narrow zip pocket on the flap, and underneath it there are two square-ish open top pockets. On the back side of the bag, there is an open top pocket which I could see being convenient for a folder or something you might want to grab quickly. There is also a slide-in pocket that fits my iPhone 15 pro perfectly. The adjustable strap isn’t padded, and it is not removable, but it works and feels fine for lighter loads. Because the fabric and construction are on the lighter-duty side, I wouldn’t overload it with heavy gear. That said, it’s been good for my laptop, charger, wallet, phone, and an extra layer. Also, it folds down flat, so you can pack it empty in luggage and use it as your day bag on a trip. Obviously, don’t pack your laptop or tablet in it! Weather-wise, it handled a light drizzle without issue, though I’m not sure it would stand up to a downpour. Overall, it’s a practical, nice-looking messenger bag that for around $25 offers good value for light to moderate use.

I ordered the Champion messenger bag in the "Sail Away Navy/Medium Ruby" color combo. It is a medium navy and burgundy color scheme. This is a lightweight bag built for light duty needs. There is an adjustable nylon strap but it is not padded so it may not be as comfortable when carrying heavier weight. The storage capacity is very good with several exterior and interior pockets and pouches for essentials. There is also a phone pocket on the back of the bag that perfectly fits my large Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phone. The interior burgundy lining has the Champion branding. This may not be the best protection for a laptop due to the light padding all around the bag, including the inside divider. The plastic buckles are just okay and a bit stiff to get unlatched. The material does appear to be at least water resistant. Versatile bag with many options and good value for the price. Recommended.

This messenger bag from Championn does a very good job of doing what it needs to do. The materials are high quality, while the bag feels light but durable too. This should offer a great way of transporting books to and from school or work. Nice value for what you get. Not padded. Full canvas construction. The color looks great. You should be able to use something like Nik Wax to waterproof this bag.
