Depend on the reliable recoil start to start up the powerful Champion 338cc single- cylinder OHV engine, which features a cast-iron sleeve, a 1.6-gallon fuel tank, 1.2-quart oil capacity (recommended 10W-30) and a low-oil shutoff for safety. Never struggle to lift a large, heavy log onto your log splitter again. It only takes a few seconds and three simple steps to convert your log splitter from horizontal to vertical. This powerful machine handles logs up to 24 inches long, weighing up to 100 pounds. Thirty-four tons of splitting capacity deliver the power you need. The hydraulic oil system has a 6.8-gallon oil capacity and operates at 13 gpm to power through tough logs. Champion’s efficient design has a fast 16-second cycle time and dependable auto-return valve, which is capable of over 200 cycles per hour. Received my log splitter on the day it was scheduled. The log splitter was well packed, except for a few bolts that were loose in the box, I was missing the washers and nuts for the two M12x85 bolts that mount the Tow Bar, and the washer for the large bolt that is used to secure the large Beam. I consider to this to be a miner issue and was able to get the missing parts at the local hardware store 2 miles from me. It took me about 4 hours to assemble the splitter--that included the time I spent going to the hardware store. I split 1/2 cord of freshly cut oak. The splitter went through each cut as if going through butter. I am truly impressed with it. I did have a minor problem. The return hose to the tank blew off twice, I thought maybe I did not tighten the clamps enough. After it blew off the second time I called champion and was instructed to back off a quarter of a turn on the pressure adjustment. The hose blowing off was a nuisance, but I take such things in stride as working out the kinks. When I called the service support they were very helpful in guiding me through what I needed to do to correct the issue. I would recommend this spitter to anyone. I disliked the fact that Champion Power Equipment never responded to any of my emails. The splitter is fantastic, the manufacturer ignores the user. Thank goodness for seller SuperGen Products. If not for them I would not be splitting fire wood.

My son called last night to tell me that his log splitter has broken again. He has asked unbeatable sales to repair it under warranty but has been unsuccessful. He is very upset because he needs the log splitter for his business.

    • Design Flaw---Water Trouble

I had trouble several times getting my 37 ton Champion started. The shop where I go for repairs said there was water leaking into the air filter, carburetor AND engine due to a design flaw . They said the machine is a Honda clone.They fabricated some rubber o-rings to keep out the water and told me to keep the , fuel tank, air filter and gas tank completely and securely covered whenever I'm not using it. No trouble since thank goodness. Pain in the neck though. ... show more
