Beautiful classy butter dish that is the perfect size! Having the handle on the lid is great. My last glass butter dish didn’t have the knob to hold on to. I learned the knob is a must, as is a lid that sits higher, and rests inside the lip enough to not slide off easily. I can use various sizes of butter sticks, or more than one at a time as needed. The lid rests in the dish enough to not feel like it will slip off taking it to and from the table, and doesn’t squish the butter. The lid rests in the groove of the base enough to keep the butter fresh and away from flies (or the opportunist dog that may be counter-surfing size). It can go in the dishwasher, which my husband will do occasionally, but I will hand wash to keep the glass beautiful. This would make a lovely gift for someone that uses real butter and keeps it on the counter, in a cabinet, or on the table! I’m typically very practical but I do love pretty things to class up my kitchen or to make me smile with every use. Reasonably priced for a two piece pretty and functional glass item.

A bar of Philly Cream Cheese fits in this perfectly. Gone are the days of rewrapping it in its wrapper and the dry crumble that would follow. This dish keeps its content clean, fresh and easily accessible with out the mess of a wrapper. Very durable Glass, easy to grip Knob on top! The Lid sits down inside the bottom tray slightly, however there is a tiny shelf area around the edge by which the lid perches. If you have ever noticed how some lids end up sliding around and butter all over, we do NOT have that problem with this design. It is exactly for East Coast single-stick butter (yes, we learned the hard way that not all butter sizes were created equal). This dish is very nice, looks great, we use 2 of them due to having a long dinner table for our large family. Easy to use, decorative enough to leave out all the time, easy to clean, serves us well. Highly recommended!

This item was described as a champagne color. It’s actually what they call carnival glass and has an iridescent quality to it. It is somewhat a champagne color. We like it!
