Description

CeraTex 3170 Ceramic Fiber Paper is an alumino-silicate ceramic fiber based non-woven fabric. It is manufactured through a special paper-making process with high purity washed fibers, suitable for high temperature insulation up to 2300°F. CeraTex 3170 features with low thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, heat and flame resistance, light weight, good flexibility and handling strength. The material is easy to die-cut or hand cut into custom shaped parts. (Product Safety Info: Ceramic fiber may cause itching and irritation to skin and eyes by contact. If excessive ceramic fiber dust is inhaled, it may cause irritation and health issue to respiratory tract. I needed a new gasket for the pellet stove. went to the place where I got it stove! they had none in stock. they said it might take up to two weeks to get one I ordered this stuff from amazon ,had it in a few days! it was so easy to cut with a razor and it gave a nice tight seal!!!!

The media could not be loaded. It was a perfect replacement for the blower in my 400,000 btu Pentair Minimax 400 pool water heater. The blower rusted out and the part is no longer available. Used to set glass blocks on in kiln when firing on glass paints and frit. Used couple times to 1225F, so far great. Don't paint with kiln wash, that stuck to glass block but was removable. Ceramic fiber paper allows glass to cool faster as it is not sitting directly on kiln shelf.

Though it says it can withstand up to 2300 degrees, this fell apart after one kiln firing (at 1425). This fiber paper costs much too much to last one firing. I'll be shopping for another.
