Was looking for a dress for a fairytale birthday party for a friend. Came across this one. I read a ton of reviews which were good. I was undecided about sizing. The amazon size chart is way different from the products size chart. I usually wear a xl or 2x. I ordered a 2x and it fit perfect. I'm just under 5'5" and I wore boots that didn't have much heel. And it is long. I had to hold it up a bit on occ when I walked. I will be having a seamstress cut off about 2 inches so I don't trip. Over all it's comfy, durable, it is a little see through but it's white. What do you expect. Over all a huge plus with this one. It came wrinkled. I wore this for a medieval themed party. I ended up getting an XS based on reviews and the size chart. I am 5'8" and 135 lbs. The double sided draw strings make it very adjustable. The party was in winter, so I wanted something warm. The quality is surprisingly good for the price.

I have received my order and tried it on. The chemise is very long- I'm 5'7 and will stand on a couple inches of fabric if I don't keep it hiked up at the waist, and runs perhaps a smidgen small. I DO have a 40in waist, and that fits fine- the bust area however isn't significantly looser than the 40in waistline, so its a tad snug. I am a DDD though, so that's not terribly surprising- it is wearable. However, the white material is VERY sheer. It drapes very pretty, but leaves nothing to the imagination underneath. Given that the overdress is meant to be underbust and open a bit from the waist to bottom hem in the front, undergarments that preserve some modesty will be necessary. The overdress is a bit more substantial, and I suspect I will use it more than the chemise. Overall, it's about what I expected for a costume. I found this item on sale and only paid $20ish for it, and I find that to be about what it's worth. The item shipped quickly, and arrived looking just as pictured. I am satisfied with my purchase as I needed a cute costume, but I would not recommend this for someone seeking actual SCA garb. ... show more

I love how it’s two pieces and it fits great. I’m normally XL but I bought a 2XL and it’s alittle big. I’m 5ft 4in and it’s long on me so might need a hem but it’s really comfortable and you can wear the two different pieces separately if you like. Worth the money!

I LOVE this dress. I am quite tall so I did have to add some length but this dress is gorgeous. I felt like a princess in it. Perfect fit for plus size. The fabric has stretch. Easy to wash and I hung it out to dry. Got this for a fantastic flash deal. I will buy different colors. ❤️❤️❤️

I bought this for a production I’m doing and the dress is great. It leaves a lot of room to take it in and the white dress comes with a tie that allows you to sinch the dress to a much smaller size. My only disappointment is that the green outer dress is missing the ties for the front and back of the “corset” part. I will not be returning the dress because I got it on a great overstock sale, but it means that I’ll have to sew the back together and find a relatively close green color ribbon to tie up the front. That’s the only issue that I have with this dress. It’s otherwise a great dress and exactly what I was looking for. It will make a great addition to our theater’s costume collection. ... show more

This came in a timely manner. It looked like the pictures. Fabric feels good on the skin, doesn’t itch or feel uncomfortable. It fits good and can be tightened easily as well as loosened easily. I purchased this to wear at work on Halloween and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was and at the fabric/sewing quality for being a costume... NO raw edges! I received ALOT of compliments. QUALITY: The material is a soft medium weight velvet fabric with some stretch... not thin and see-through and not so thick and stiff that it loses proper drape/flow. The wrinkles from packaging almost disappeared after letting it hang on a hanger for about a week. There was a bit of static but I just rubbed a dryer sheet on the inside of the skirt and it was no longer an issue. FIT/SIZING: I was unsure what size to get since costumes tend to run extremely small but the reviews all said it ran pretty true so I ordered three sizes to try: XL, 2X, 3X. The 2X worked the best as I'm a bit full in the middle (the XL might have worked if my shape was different). I'm a size 14/16 and 5'6" at about 185#. LENGTH: The length was about perfect. I would say if you are under 5'5" then you may have to shorten it or lift the front of the skirt when you walk. COMPLAINTS: My only complaint would be that the fabric used for the edging is rather an ugly yellow. It's not velvet like the rest of the dress but a stretchy plain polyester fabric that seems a bit out of place in my opinion. I think that if it was either velvet or an actual "metallic" gold it would give the dress a much more polished and less "costume-like" appearance. (If I get ambitious I might try to swap this out myself.) CONCLUSION: This is a versatile, well made, and comfortable dress especially for the price point. I used it as a witch costume this year but it could easily be turned into a vampire, elf, princess, period costume, etc. I expect to get many years of use out of this dress.
