I love that these have transparency mode and ANC, but I don't understand the useless "gaming" mode, aka, "performance" mode. I can't get these to work with my gaming PC over Bluetooth, but it's possible that my motherboard's Bluetooth module is poorly made. I'd like to try these batteries with a better Bluetooth module via USB on my PC. The pairing mode on these are a headache. There aren't any clear directions on how to pair these things. And you can only pair one device at a time. They always want to reconnect to the last device they were paired to, which is fine most of the time, unless you have multiple devices you want to use these with. I had to keep pushing the buttons on the batteries, and, at one point, it changed the language on me, and I got completely lost. It took me a good 15 minutes just to get them back to English and paired to a different device. Some of KZ's other batteries actually say "pairing" when you put them into pairing mode, but these do not. When I tried these with my KZ ZA12 IEM's (tunable version with dip switches on them), they do not pair well at all. The volume is so low, it makes the transparency mode on these Bluetooth batteries completely useless. Bass is so flat and highs are super sharp. I think it's due to the high impedance of the ZA12's. With my KZ ZS10 Pro's, they sound great. Transparency mode is usable, ANC works fine... I think these Bluetooth modules would also pair nicely with the KZ ZSN Pro X IEM's I used to have. I don't have them anymore to confirm at this time. I will say, with my KZ ZS10 Pros, I can use these for long listening sessions with no issue. With the transparency mode, while working in the office, is a great plus not having to take them in and out of my ears all the time. Build quality, don't expect much in this area. They are cheap made plastic housings, similar to the KZ AZ15 Bluetooth modules I used to own. So far all of KZ's bluetooth adapters seem to be built very cheap. In fact, the housing for the AN01 model are even worse, they don't even have a chamfered gap to easily pop open the top lid (which the AZ15 did), so I find myself slipping and gripping all over the housing just to pop the case open. A bit annoying... That being said, there's not much other options available on the market yet for Bluetooth adapters for IEM's. I love the idea of being able to use my earbuds both wired at home while gaming, and wireless while at work. Maybe if they could do something similar to Jabra's earbuds. Jabra offers an app that allows you to adjust the transparency volume, adjust the spatial ANC, and equalize the ear buds. If KZ can offer a sturdier casing with a complimentary app to control functionality, and multi-device pairing, these things would be perfect to compete in a lot of other earbud markets. How many earbuds do you know that have both wired and wireless capabilities? Enhance the build quality, and overall functionality of pairing, and these would be spot on. For now this is all they've got, so i'll have to settle.
