I wasn’t to sure about how well this brush would work on my long haired cat but happy to say it works great and removing the hair from the brush is so easy. I love using the mist it helps so the hair doesn’t blow all over when brushing. My finicky cat seems to enjoy my brushing her which she wasn’t crazy about before. There’s a little funnel to add the water,doesn’t take long for the water to heat up. My cats coat looks so nice after I’m done and yes it will make their coat damp( kinda like giving them a bath). This cat brush is fantastic. The little sprayer really makes all the difference to the hair collection and to the dander that gets in the air. The sprayer puts out a pleasantly cool mist that my cat doesn't even notice. Its also quite, and the charge lasts for a fairly long time, depending on usage. I fill it up nearly every time l use it so thats no biggie. There are a few issues however. 1, the fur removal is not easy. The push to remove the fur is weak and doesn't go fair enough to release the hair. The 2nd problem is the sprayer quit working after 3 weeks. One day working the next day it stopped. Thats annoying. Anyway, both the cat and myself likes the product and a new one is ordered.

A sleek, lightweight, easy to use product for my beloved very old cat whose hindquarters get matted...I tried it for the first time today and it substantially made a "dent" in getting rid of some serious rear quarter matting problems. Because she IS a longhaired beauty? -I will have to gently go at it again tomorrow and maybe even a 3rd time Sunday, to eliminate these mats that have plagued her to the degree she's given up (afterall, she is almost 80 human years old!) BUT I have to say, it does precisely what it says and this particular one is far better for CATS in my opinion, than others than state "dogs and cats". Never thought I’d be on Amazon writing a 5 star review on a cat brush yet here we are. My senior boy was getting such bad hairballs from grooming himself and his long-furred sister. We had an incident where he choked on one (very scary, fortunately I knew how to give the kitty Heimlich). After that I’ve started being diligent about brushing and giving laxatone. This brush gets 3x as much fur as the identical one without the steam feature. The secret: give them a once-over with the steamer every now and then inbetween brushes. It loosens the fur up. Then as you drag the dry brush over, it removes all excess/loose fur. The noise and sensation kind of scared them at first which is how I learned to use the steaming more sparingly. They eventually got used to it and now they even let me brush their tummies. They legit sit in front of the cabinet where I store it and meow for their brushes. 5 stars, fantastic. Haven’t had a hairball in weeks. Thank you so much for inventing this.

It lasted a month. The "steamer"stopped working after 1 month. That was the point of purchasing. Otherwise it is just a brush. It does have the easy hair removal, but you pay more for this product because of the water design. Take a chance of it not working for long.
