My cats love this and sleep on it every night. The dark brown color on the sides is nice. The cardboard scratching part lasts for awhile and can then be flipped over. This is the second time I have bought this. The last one lasted a year or so. While my cats still loved it, I thought a new one would look better. They love the new one too! It’s fully assembled and comes right out of the box. No issues with shipping. If your cat won’t use it at first, put some catnip on it. My cats needed no extra motivation. (To be fair, my cats would use a flat square cardboard piece to lie on as well. This just looks much nicer!) The photos are of my cat on the old scratcher after about a year. Originally I got these for my own cats. So when a stray started following me on my nightly walks, then figured out where I lived, well, things just escalated quickly. I figured he might like to have a similar set up. So I ordered three of these. I used a ryobi drill to poke a hole at the tops of the cardboard, and passed a total of 4 hair elastics tied in a tight knot through said holes. Et voila! Now I have a happy stray who absolutely loves his cardboard scratcher bed. He actually does play with the balls, which is cute. Not all our visitors to our cat restaurant (he told some friends) play with the toys, but he does. There are different price points on amazon, so I suggest carefully looking. At the time of purchase, I saw it being sold by amazon for $36, and again by amazon for $17. Sooo… This review is for the $17 one. They are the same size as the ones I originally purchased 2 years ago for $22. They do not come lined on the bottom, so if your cat is a fiend for catnip, it will end up on the floor. All the cats, my two indoor, and this new one, love these scratchers for doing big stretchies, and scratching… maybe he will retire from being a tnr’d outdoor cat and enjoy our ac someday…Im working on it. Til then little schnitzel is king of the yard. Wish us luck! ... show more

When I visited my brother, he had 2 of these for his cats, so I couldn't wait to order my own when I got home. Since I have 3 cats, I ordered two scratchers. They arrived quickly, with a little pack of catnip! My cats LOVED them right away and still do. They play, climb and take naps on these every day. Size is large - about 36" long, 10" wide, 10" tall. So it is substantial! Very sturdy and nearly impossible for a cat to tear it up. I rate this product A++ ... show more

You cannot go wrong with these if you have cats. They protect my furniture because the cats prefer to scratch these. I have two in the living room and one in each bedroom. They seem pricey, but they last a long time, so they turn out in the long room to be high value for the price. They also look nice. They do not look out of place wherever they are. ... show more

My cat absolutely LOVES this thing!! And he has completely stopped scratching on our couch 🙌! The only drawback is it’s kind of messy and I don’t see it lasting too long. I will definitely be purchasing again, only because he’s obsessed!!! I would bet there some type of catnip in there 🤔.

    • YAY!! The perfect size for a bigger kitty!
It's about time! The search is over -- this is the perfect size scratcher-lounger for a larger cat. Our big orange boy Charlie was all over this thing within 5 seconds of it being put down on the floor. (Not exaggerating!) His sister Zoe, who is a bit smaller, loved to stretch out on it, full length, whenever Charlie wasn't around. I ended up buying another one for her a couple days later. Now we have them side-by-side in their play area and we have two very happy cats. More pluses: The cardboard surface is dense and sturdy, it will stand up to rough play and has not shed a lot of cardboard pieces yet. They love the balls in the end grooves, too! Charlie has figured out how to pop them out, but I just put them back in and he's a happy camper, ready for more play. Other balls and favorite toys can be easily tucked inside, too. SO glad I bought these, seeing them so content makes my day. :) (PS. Tossing out all of the dinky, too small, shredded up ones tonight!) ... show more
