I received these as a Vine member however it did not influence my review. I was in the market to find a solution to prevent my cats from scratching my sofa, when I came across these Cat Scratch Furniture Protectors. The package came with 4 large pieces and 2 smaller ones, which should be enough to do all four corners and sides on a sofa. They measure pretty close to what is advertised. The pieces are not too thick, so they were easy to apply. It came with a trowel, but I didnโt need to use it since I applied it slowly to work out any wrinkles. There are small pins to hold these in place if the adhesive starts to fail. I didnโt use them since my kittens might think they were play toys and try to bat them off. The only downside is that they are glossy and reflect light, which makes them stand out on my dark fabric. Other than that, they do the job well and my sofa is safe from my catsโ murder mittens. I would recommend these to anyone who loves their cats and their furniture.

It is not particularly pretty but might be your best option if you own a cat. We do clip her claws frequently, but it is not worth the risk to the couch if we forget to do it soon enough. As most cat owners have learned, in spite of some veterinarians promoting it, declawing a cat is inhumane. That leaves few options if you love your cat and prefer that your furniture remain intact! We are using this on a leather couch. This particular set is thick enough that the cat can't penetrate it. We are not using the tacks because 1) it is a leather couch, not fabric, 2) the plastic sheets are sticking. We haven't had to remove or move any pieces yet.

These furniture protector sheets were just what I needed and they work pretty well. The sheets are a thick, clear vinyl and I was pleasantly surprised at how thick and puncture resistant they are. The sheets bend with ease to fit any area, and can also be cut. The backing was very easy to peel off and apply. They are adhesive backed so they will basically stay in place and there are 30 screw-type pins with clear heads to help keep the sheets affixed. I don't think the sheets would stay put very long without the pins, though. The cats hate them and just avoid scratching their chosen areas of the sofa now that these are on. They worked so well I put some on the corners of my box spring, and the cats no longer claw there either. Poor cats, they'll just have to use one of their 3 scratching posts or 4 cardboard scratching mats instead. These sheets are an excellent value for the price, and are totally worth a try if you have cats and need to redirect their scratching.

I have two cats who love to use my couches as scratching posts when they think I'm not looking. They only seem to scratch in a couple of different spots, though. I'm rating this product a 3.5-4 for a few reasons. The product does work and it prevents the cats from scratching the actual furniture as long as it's properly applied. Now, the issue with this is a couple of things...1.) when it comes in the package, it's in the form of a tube. Typically, the furniture is flat so having a tube that needs to be stretched out, automatically causes a bit of a problem. 2.) The pins it comes with are the coil type. Typically these would be great but I find that they're very difficult to really secure since the other side of the couch surface is some type of wood. Lastly 3.) it just doesn't look great. The plastic is pretty thick, which helps prevent the cats from scratching right through it but it's so blatantly there, there is no way to disguise it. It's just not aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. That said, it still does the job it's meant to do but, I feel it could use some improvements.
