The thing about reviews is, they typically are from our initial impressions about an item, the excitement of something new. This review is one of those but, I don't write reviews unless I believe in a product and even then I wait for a couple months to see if the quality is still good but, in this case, I'm very pleased. I've purchased a couple of this style of cat climbing post over the past few years from other brands and, they didn't last or were cheaply manufactured. The first thing I noticed about this climbing post is how thick the platforms are, the size of the platforms and how well attached the felt type carpeting is. It was easy to assemble, everything I needed was included and it was very simple to assemble. There are 2 reasons why I'm giving a good initial review, 1. I bought this for a very cheap price. 2. It is extremely stable and well made (considered it's materials and price point) Of all the different brands of this exact style of cat post, I would favorably recommend this one over any others on Amazon. Both my cats, one is 6lbs and the other is 12lbs, climb up on this and love sitting comfortably to look out the window. ... show more

I have two of them now. I can't begin to describe how much use they get -- incredible. From the first minute I set them up. Yes, they are a tiny bit wacky in that they sway a little and wobble, and over time, with many leaps on and off, and sword fights on the upper deck, the bottom platform creeps around a bit, and the ceiling part may shift position as well. I think I could have taken a minute to place a rubber mat under the footer to keep it more rooted to one spot but I was SO ANXIOUS to get it installed that I didn't bother. So occasionally I have to stand on a little stepstool and realign top and bottom. I don't think it's possible for it to fall over -- the tension spring at top ensures it stays connected solidly at top, and the metal bolts that hold the sections together are sturdy and long enough to withstand pounding. The wobbling doesn't deter the wild and crazy ones, in fact, it may add to the fun. Kittens and adults alike are insane for this thing. I love that it has a tiny footprint, and that it goes all the way to the ceiling. It adds a nice dimension to the room and it's much more streamlined in appearance than other styles of cat tree. The price is SO GOOD that I can afford to have multiples and it takes up so little space that I can consider installing in out-of-the-way spaces. I'm definitely getting another one. The carpeting isn't all that high-quality, doesn't have a whole lot of "tooth" to it, but it doesn't seem to matter. They are constantly stretching up and clawing at it. The carpeting is starting to split open just at the seams on the older one. Easily re-gluable. I suppose if I got ambitious I could even wrap a section with rope, but I don't have much DIY time with multiple housecats and foster cats. One thing I know for sure is that cats are always looking for the next thing, and if we don't give them plenty of places to hang out and expend energy, they will take it out on us in other ways! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I am very glad I decided to pursue this purrchase! Since we moved into a smaller house these cats have been trying to take over. It’s too much when you have active cats. I needed something to re-train them as they want to walk all over and on top of everything now (as you can see in one picture with my tabby on top of the water dispenser). It’s not happening! Since the kitchen seems to be the hot spot they want to be in there too. So this is why I put this particular one by the window to redirect them when they jump on the counter. So far it’s been 3,4 days and I’ve only had maybe 5 encounters with them trying to jump on the counters. Which is great! I put them there and they either watch me, play, or scratch the posts. The stability is good despite the reviews. I was concerned it was going to be wobbling but my “blonde” tabby is pretty big and solid he climbs it with no issues of it falling or tilting. Maybe for higher ceilings I can see the concern. My ceiling is standard 8’ I believe. This was VERY easy to put together and I will be adding toys to it soon as well. ... show more

This did not fit my 9 ft ceilings. Very wobbles. Tried fitting and went thru ceiling. However it does look cute to just set things on but cat should not go on bc very unsafe. And I did patch ceiling. Will never buy again. Do not recommend for cats

Truly, people who say this isn’t sturdy just aren’t installing it correctly. I have it placed in a corner for added stability, and because that’s where I needed it to go, but that isn’t necessary. The spring holding the plastic piece to the ceiling provides plenty of tension to hold it in place. Unless your cats are fully WWE off-the-ropes wrestling each other, at full speed, into this thing, it’s not going anywhere. I have a crazy cat who sprinted up this thing the moment I set it up and it didn’t move an inch. Great purchase, prices rise, it sucks but that’s the world we live in. Everything costs more, don’t blame the manufacturers for trying to keep up with production costs. The carpet may be different, but this carpet feels incredibly durable and resistant to cat scratches. It’s going to last way longer than the rope wrapped cat trees that look like garbage after a couple weeks of cats scratching them. Would buy it again. ... show more
