Not sure for a cat, but this fits my two Guinea pigs, and they love it so so much! It’s great quality, comes with that new car smell, easy to move and functional for hiking. Definitely worth the money!

My little Iris is just that...little. She is small framed and fits perfectly. Now, my other cat, Rocket, is half Maine Coon and he is like ten pounds of sugar in a five pound sack in this backpack. It works. Sturdy and I like that it folds up completely to be flat and store easily. Its comfortable to wear, but it definitely is not large. I have a standard sized adult cat (10 lbs) and he needs more room than this provides. I love this carrier so much! And so does my cat!!! So many good things to say about it. The opening is the right size to put him in and zip it up. It is roomy for my cat to spread out and sleep. He likes having a view through the mesh. I love the backpack style because I can put him on my back and carry other things at the same time. The backpack straps are perfect for looping a seatbelt through for car safety. The mesh is sturdy! A few times he has tried to “claw” at it. This is rare, but it happens. You cannot even tell. The mesh stands up well to “light” clawing. I love the two zipper pouches on the side for carrying other pet related items….bowls, leashes, treats, etc. In the past, I have used hard sided carriers for my cats, but never again. My kitten and I love this backpack. The color and style are beautiful but it is also functional. The mesh allows my kitten to see out and provides ample ventilation. We live in Florida so its important it doesn't get too hot inside and the mesh helps with that. I like the little leash inside that clips to his harness. He has a good amount of room to move around and lay down. The zippers seem a little flimsy, particularly the ones for the pockets on the side. However, the side pockets do provide good space for carrying a leash, harness, car keys, etc. I just make sure to keep my kitten's harness clipped even when the mesh is zippered closed. There's also a strap on the back to put seatbelt through which I use and appreciate. Overall the bag feels durable and comfortable for me to carry and my kitten to ride in.
