This is a great idea, and would work very well for a really small dog, or cat. Well, maybe a cat. My cat was not having it. He hates his carrier as is, and I was hoping I could get him in this, and wear it on my chest and walk with him when he needed to go to the vet. When I get him in his regular carrier, I have to load him from the top and hold all four of his legs, and put him in head first. This doesnt have a top load option, so it was impossible for me to get him in. Of course he was curious when I left it sitting out, and the front unzipped, but still would not let me load him in. I tried the small front area and then the side as well. It seems very small to me, so again - for a smaller pet. Its made very well and I really loved it, just couldnt get my little bugger to.
