  • Nice to use on yard bare spots
I have some bald spots in my yard where seed has a hard time taking root, but when it rains and the ground gets softer I can put on the aerators on the bottom of my shoes and create holes in the ground where the seed can drop into it and take root easier and have a foot hold when it does. I find these easy to put on and use and are great for small problem grass areas in my yard. You do have to install all the spikes into them which is not hard, It took me longer to figure out how to put the straps in with the directions but I finally figured it out. When you get outside in the area you want to work in, you can just slip your feet into them and tighten them up with the adjustable straps and aerate when you need to. It also has a piece at the heal where it extends upwards and helps keep them on your feet. I find these very handy and have always wanted some and find them very useful. I think these will last a long time, seem to be made of very hard durable plastic with metal bolt on spikes. I would not recommend wearing these inside the house or even on concrete as they would scratch a floor or you might possible slide on concrete. I would definitely put them on when out in the yard where you are ready to use them. On an extra note, there was a jagged piece of metal that shipped with the spike and nut bag that I am not sure where it came from but it must have been part of the process of creating the spikes and it accidently shipped with the spikes and nuts. ... show more

  • Instructions
The instructions were very difficult to understand. I finally got The straps on, but I’m not sure that they’re on correctly.

  • Be careful
When the lawn shoes arrive, you have to assemble them by screwing the spikes into the shoes. It is easy to do and they do provide a small wrench. You also have to install the straps onto the shoe. This was sort of a trial and error method as the install diagrams were a bit confusing to me. I finally got them installed and went into my backyard to give them a try. I sat on my deck stairs and put them on. I took two steps and one immediately came off. I tightened the straps and tried again. This time I took about 20 steps before the strap came off. I took the toe strap off the shoe and moved it to a hole closer to the center of the shoe and tried again. This worked as the shoes stayed on. You have to walk like a drum major to be sure that the spikes are clear of the ground before moving your foot forward or you will find your nose in the grass. I enjoyed prancing around the yard getting some exercise while aerating the grass. I would recommend that anyone with stability concerns use a walking stick just in case of a stumble. I used one and all went well. Do not walk on any hard surface like a driveway or patio stones with these shoes on. You will fall! I think there are a few worms angry with me for installing skylights on them, but hopefully this will make my grass healthier. ... show more

  • Easy enough to use, takes some practice
My yard is covered in bare spots so I got these as an easy way to aerate the yard and help promote grass growth. Not sure if it's working yet, but the shoes do what they say they'll do so not complaints there. They are a little cumbersome to use and take a bit of practice to walk in. You may also have to adjust the straps to get them to stay on. I like that they just wrap around your shoes so anyone in the house can go out to aerate the yard. Definitely be careful walking in them, and take your time! ... show more

  • Little extra
These are great for a smaller yard where using a large machine isn't feasible. Once you get use to them they are pretty easy to use.

  • Easy to put together! Comfortable to wear!
These lawn aerator shoes are easy to put together and even easier to walk on. I was very surprised at how comfortable they are to wear. The spikes slide down into slightly moist soil without effect! I can't wait to see how much my lawn will improve simply by wearing these aerator shoes for a season!

  • Fell short. :(
I like the concept. Straps did not hold properly in practice. I will likely need a landscaper for my aeration needs.
