Picture for closer up and in comparison to the bed— though, my mattress has a 3” memory foam topper sitting on it, so take that into account if you think it sits low. It doesn’t. My mattress is just in 3” heels, as it were. This arrived quickly, was very easy to put together, it’s sturdy, and the USB worked as soon as I plugged it in and turned it on. Fantastic little night stand. Space for tea, books, phone, lap, and decor— and that’s strictly the top of it, as you can see. This is perfect for my guest room. It’s lovely. Would very much buy again. Any reviews claiming it’s very small, I’m sorry you didn’t read the specifications telling you how big it is down to quarter-inches, I guess??? Use a tape measure next time? How big do you actually need if THIS is the design you were looking at? Would this work in my bedroom? No, but I have a chronic injury, so my nightstand drawer has to be able to hold heating pads and a percussion gun, at the very least. Obviously, that wouldn’t work for this. I'll state beforehand that I didn't order this end table with anything else in mind other than having charge ports for my fiance's phone so she can charge it overnight. In that respect, this end table gets the job done for the price. The end table is not difficult to set up, but you may need a drill gun to install the bottom set of screws into the legs. Either that, or I just don't have the best strength when trying to install with a screwdriver... Lol. Also, the drawer knob did not have a pilot hole drilled in for the accompanying screw, so I needed to drill one to get the screw threaded down all the way. It's a solid and sturdy piece of furniture. It doesn't rock or tilt, it's well designed. The USB ports all work properly, with two of them showing blue LEDs to indicate power and to find them better in the dark. This end table even came with a USB branch cable that has 3 different connectors, a nice surprise! The only complaint I have is that the drawer is a little too small for my liking. We had an old end table that we were hoping to replace with this one, but noticed that our old end table had a much spacier drawer for cables, remotes, and other stuff we stored away. Now, that's not the designer's fault; I should have considered drawer space when looking it up. However, we are keeping the old end table for the drawer space (for now) and will set up the new one next to it. Overall, this is a very solid piece of furniture for the price. If you just want an end table that has a USB port setup to charge your electronics, you'd be hard pressed to find much better than this for the price. If you are looking for an end table with more drawer space, this likely won't be what you want. ... show more

I read the reviews on this piece and was skeptical so when I received the table I was careful to make sure everything was in working order before assembly. My pros: The table was packaged beautifully; there were no nicks, marks, or dings on any of the pieces. I checked to make sure the USB port was functioning properly - with success - before putting the table together. It was very easy to assemble - took about 10 minutes. The hardware includes an allen wrench, so the only tool you will need is a phillips screw driver. All the pieces are real wood except the floor of the drawer. It is pressed board but still sturdy enough. The real wood grain shows through the stain nicely and the color is almost identical to my 70 year old bedroom set. The drawer slide is nice and smooth with slight tension so the drawer will not slide out while carrying the table. The hardware used to assemble the piece is all hidden underneath. The legs are stained completely (the part that touches the floor). I only mention this because there was a review where this was not the case with another customer. My only three cons: I gave it a 4 for sturdiness because the legs are slightly off which creates a wobble. This was easily corrected with felt floor protectors that I had to apply anyway because of the wood floors. The wood grain is nice but you can tell it is not a hard wood - maybe pine or something. Along with the wood grain on the top of the table you see the wood joints - that is kind of off putting. The biggest con is the hole in the knob that assembles to the drawer needed to be drilled larger as the screw used for assembly was slightly bigger than the hole. ... show more

I was concerned this would be lacking in build and quality after reading reviews. Rest assured this was a great little nightstand. No damage whatsoever. Took no time to assemble. I didn't realize how dark expresso is, I plan to add an expresso stain to my dresser to blend it in with the nightstands. I will say that the nightstands were a bit unlevel, could have been my assembly and tightening the screws on the legs. I added pads to the bottom, and they are fine now. ... show more
