I go to various craft and metaphysical shows in my area. Having a good-looking and sturdy display without having to shell out massive amounts of cash can be a challenge. I ordered two of these black Montego 3-Shelf Folding bookcases by Casual Home and I have to say I am pretty impressed. There is no assembly required. Each shelf can hold up to 25 lbs - which is important because I also sell books at these shows, so it's a must. They fold very neatly, and store flat. They are stackable; however, the manufacturer recommends that you have two people if you planstack them. The fit is tight, but it's fairly sturdy. If you do use them in the stacked mode, it is also recommended that they be anchored securely into a wall stud. The necessary hardware to do this is also included. Nice sturdy. Right sized bookshelf for bedroom or small office. Big problem with USPS. Arrived at post office (why not UPS?). Very heavy (22#) and bulky (40x24”) and USPS personnel refused to move it so wasn’t easy. Difficult to love the bookshelf with all the hassle (again why not UPS?).

I am a senior citizen and I have 2 other folding bookcases. I quilt and need a place for my thread containers and plastic storage containers of notions and other items. I have not put books on it. It is sturdy enough for my craft organization. I unboxed it, carried it up a flight of steps, and it was completely filled within the hour of its arrival. Since I can't move the tall bookcases that are attached to the wall for safety, these fill in the gap and are very functional. If I need it in a different place, it takes me less than 10 min to remove the containers, move the bookcase, and then put my items back. As we age and don't know if we have to continue to downsize, at least, I have bookcases that can travel with me! ... show more
