I wanted a regular old backpack to replace all my big clunky diaper bags, but obviously still needed a ton of room. This was surprisingly roomy for a smaller than average backpack! There's a laptop pocket that I use for my changing pad and diapers, and a small zippered pocket inside to keep my baby's Tylenol and such. I use the side pockets for wipes and my wallet, then snacks in the front pocket. There's still a ton of room for toys and such even after all that! The backpack I already had when I purchased this one is large and meant for travelling. I bought this one for day-to-day use as public transportation is my main mode of transportation. It wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was smaller than I thought a bag advertised for travelling would be. I was sure my 15.6" screen laptop would not fit into the laptop pocket, but surprisingly, it did so comfortably. There are two other pouches and two pockets for storage as well. It is not canvas as described. The material may have a canvas weave, but it is definitely a synthetic and thin material. I can overlook that. I've seen a lot of bad reviews by people not happy with its quality and surmising it lacks durability; but the stitching looks strong and I have been using it for two months (sometimes fully packed) with no indication that it will have a short life.
