It was not what I was expecting it to smell like. Everyone said it’s very “gourmand” very vanilla. No I love vanilla I was wanting like put vanilla extract but this was so much better. It smells like how I imagine an old timey speakeasy. It’s Smokey and spicy and sweet but not too sweet. It is gentle and moisturizing. Now when I get home I cannot wait to hop in the shower just to smell like this soap. It is on the masculine side scent wise so this would be a really good gift for your dad brother son or boyfriend. Especially for men or women who don’t like colognes or perfumes. This is well worth the price!

Update 5/26/25: I bought bulk unscented USDA certified organic from the supplier, Stephenson, that supplies most companies. It has 100% certified organic ingredients. You can buy it online from local distributors in 1, 3, 5, 55, 275 gallon etc. quantities. I recommend using PayPal when buying from small online stores. You can find the online distributor that's nearest you using the list on the Stephenson website. Liquid Soap 105 is coconut and sunflower oil and Liquid Soap 101 is coconut and olive oil. Search for "stephenson liquid soap 105" and the "stephensonpersonalcare" website should show up in your search results. Update: 4/26/25 This has a non organic ingredient that can be potentially toxic if not processed properly. I got the tobacco vanilla scented soap and it does not smell like tobacco vanilla at all. However it does still smell good it has a very sweet scent but does not smell like tobacco vanilla. Overall I am pleased I just wish it smelled like the advertised scent.

The liquid and bar unscented soaps are a lifesaver! I am sensitive to smells and had to search for a new face soap when they started changing formulas in Dove unscented sensitive soap and the Clinique mild face bar soap. I found this brand on the Branch Basics website and it’s great! Has a slight smell but it’s from the ingredients and not a chemical smell. I don’t react to this soap (chemical smells can cause puffy lips/ face). I use the bar soap for my face and hands. My hands do not feel dried out after using the bar soap and it feels very moisturizing. I saw the laundry soap use on the box and by chance rubbed it on some clothes mailed from a department store that had a perfume smell that was not washing out with vinegar, baking soda, or Borax. I washed the clothes with my unscented Tide and vinegar and it worked! So now I use the liquid for washing perfume department store smells out of clothes by adding a couple capfuls to unscented Tide with Borax (maybe has something to do with the oils binding the fragrance but I’m not 100 percent sure). I hope they don’t ever have to change the formula. This is worth the price and a great company and great product!

Great scent, not cheap perfume and soap texture and oils quality is awesome. Very little needed to due to overall quality. It really is my favorite soap, mild not harsh but cleaning.

Dear God it smells so good. I just open the cap to smell it sometimes. It’s expensive and I almost disn’t buy a second bottle but I couldn’t resist… but like people have said a little bit goes a long way. I would not reccomend it for your hair if you have really hard water. But that is just a feature of castille soap not the fault of the product. Makes laundry smell awesome. I really wish they had some sort of other products with this smell besides soap because they nailed it.
