Description

CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward. These models pack Twin Sensor and temperature and direction readings into a 100M water resistant design that is perfect for sports, work, or other activities that involve water. In addition to world time, stopwatch alarm, and other basic timekeeping functions, these models also include a direction sensor and temperature sensor. Direction readings and time are indicated by large, easy-to-read figures. A large LCD is divided into three segments for a clear, easy-to- understand presentation of data. Mineral glass is used to protect against scratching.

  • My Favorite Watch
I got this watch to wear while I'm out for hours doing yardwork. I've never had an adventurous watch before, I've been into luxury watches for a few years and that's what I've always worn. But now; this is my everyday, all the time watch. It is water resistant, durable, and easy to tell time in bright sunlight. If it's dark out, you can toggle on the backlight so you can read your watch in the dark. It can display temperature in both C or F, you choose. It has a compass that works very well, would be a great watch for hiking. It is very well made in regards to the water resistance. I was using a water hose and it got doused pretty good. Still works fine. It looks very nice in person too. Very glossy. I've been asked by various people what the watch is. Overall, just a phenomenal electronic watch. A working man's watch and a wandering man's watch. Also, very easy to setup. Just use the buttons to adjust your timezone, then time, then calibrate the temperature sensor (if it is not already calibrated, mine was not). The manual is very helpful. ... show more

  • Excellent value
What else can you say about Casio that hasn't already been said? Rugged, dependable, stylish, functional, inexpensive. This is a great watch. Twin sensor with compass and thermometer. I wouldn't use it if I was lost in the woods and thermometer is relative to ambient temperature and the temperature of your skin but it is what it is. All in all the cool watch and for the money it's awesome!! If you're a Casio collector, buy it. You won't be disappointed. My only gripe is the negative display never been a big fan of the negative display. Why would you not want to see what you're looking at on a digital watch? ... show more

  • Mediocre quality
- The thermometer is inaccurate and highly skewed between the ambient temperature and the person's own body temperature. If the room is 72F and you are 98.6F, the watch will report a variable 80-something unless you take it off and leave it sitting in the open for several minutes. Even then it'll bounce up and down a few degrees as it sits there. - The compass is overly sensitive and sometimes inaccurate, especially when near anything metal. For example, face due north while standing next to your car and then turn 30 degrees east; the watch will jump to 60 degrees ENE before bouncing back to 10 degrees NNE. - The black LCD makes the watch look a bit more attractive but also makes the face harder to read in average-to-low lighting, increasing your reliance on the backlight. - The backlight is not particularly strong and stays on for a total of 5 seconds after pressing the button. It is not possible to press-and-hold the 'light' button to prolong the illumination. In short, you're probably better off buying a cheaper Casio watch and then buying a cheap, hand-held thermometer/compass combo that's made for hiking/camping. ... show more

  • Best Travel Watch
This is my 2nd one. I'm glad they still make the same model because the first lasted 15 years and qualifies as one of my best purchases ever! It's now 1/2 the price of what I paid for my first one. The battery only needed to be changed once during that time period. It's great for traveling because it has so many time zones and is not flashy. I love the temperature and compass features. My only suggestion to Casio would be to make the display larger since I now need reading glasses. ... show more
