    • The classic Casio square...upgraded!
This is infamous Casio square, the very first G-Shock that started it all back in 1983. The 5610 continues that lineage, keeping the same classic square shape and offers one of the slimmest profiles of any G-Shock models today. Because of its classic timeless shape, its perfect for work or recreation, and doesn't look out of place in any occasion, even with a suit. This watch is perfect for anyone looking for a timepiece that's simple and unobtrusive. I would recommend this model as the first for anyone looking to start dipping their toes in the G-Shock world. This particular model is the 5610U (at least, the one I received from Amazon). The "U" is the updated model, I believe released in 2022, offering an upgraded LED light amongst other enhancements. What's great about this watch is that you essentially don't really need to do anything to it once you set it up. The Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time syncing syncs with the atomic clock signal put out in Fort Collins (in US) so you'll get the most accurate reading as long as you set up your home city. The watch syncs up nightly as long as you place it near a window. Other functions the watch has includes stopwatch, countdown timers, alarms, and world time (48 cities with 5 customizable city settings). This model also features power saving function where the watch turns off if left in the dark for a while, making it last even longer. Oh yeah, did I mention that its solar powered? As long as the watch gets to see some sun here and there, it will never run out of batteries. It doesn't even need to be directly in the sun, it works with any light source. Its essentially a set it and forget it watch. Never need to set the time and never need to swap or charge the battery. This is a watch that's designed and made to withstand any type of destruction or disaster. Who needs a smart watch? NOTE: Even though Amazon lists this watch as the "Japan" model (1BJF), it is NOT. This is actually the international model (1BJF) which may deter some purists looking for the "Made in Japan" printed on the underside. As far as I can tell, there are no noticeable differences in style or functionality except for where its made (international models are made in Thailand). The best watch in the world!!! Literally never fails and its always time accurate. Takes a beating and keeps ticking. I prefer the negative vs positive, but I have no issues reading the negative.

This is a great watch, fit for purpose as a no-nonsense daily driver. The MB6 radio synch updates every night as far out as the North East US and Mid-Atlantic US. I got this because I needed a very accurate watch - and this meets that need very well. Sleek, stealth monochromatic look. Size works great for a 6.5 and up wrist size. Takes a knocks, immersion in water, and keeps working like a G-Shock should. Great price. As others have mentioned, the negative relief LCD screen is not easy to read from multiple viewing angles - you have to be OK with looking and moving your wrist to a viewable angle. This would not be a problem if the auto-backlight feature worked as advertised - mine is inconsistent and works maybe 10-20% of the time. Also - as others have mentioned, and if it matters to you - if you’re buying form Amazon as the seller & shipper - you will not get the JDM version of the watch, but the international version (high is no different…) ... show more

This is a great watch to wear every day, and you never have to worry about it failing on you. There's a reason Navy SEALS trust this brand. G Shock durability is unmatched, and the solar charging means this watch is more reliable than any other. It never loses the time because it syncs up via radio signals. Sure, the negative display can be hard to read at times (specifically in low light environments), but it has an auto-lightup feature that makes this a non-issue. You can enable this by holding the lightup button for a few seconds, and it will activate when you go to check the time and the watch senses darkness.     • The best G-Shock watch!
Ive always wanted a G-Shock, but without the crazy bulk. For some reason really large watch faces always bothered me and I can't wear them for more than an hour. This watch has all the benefits of the G-Shock branding, in a more reasonable size! Some people don't like the negative display, and it's a legit complaint. At times it can be hard to read the face of the watch, but more times than not I have no issue. It's also pretty sweet looking as it's my first of it's kind ive owned. An awesome feature with this model is that it charges via solar AND it updates its time via a radio signal it picks up around midnight! In case I somehow find myself lost in the wilderness, I know this will stand up against whatever is thrown at it! Buy the watch is what I'm trying to say. ... show more

I wear this watch everyday at work for 8-10 hours as a machinist. To say this watch is worth the money is crazily understated. If you want a watch that you can knock around, looks good, is always reliable, comfortable, and you NEVER have to recharge, this is it. And trust me, getting one that's sub-par to this just to save a few bucks is a massive mistake. I'm not going to bother listing all the features it has but I'll just say when I'm not at work and I look down at my wrist, I instantly get annoyed I'm wearing one of my $500 dollar watches and not this one in the name of fashion.
