Love G-Shock. I bought it for the time hands. These provide the tactical ability to navigate without a compass. As former U.S. Military, this was the main reason I made the purchase. I bought one with just digital read out in 1991 and changed duty stations to Guam. I dived to 100 plus feet. I exited the Military in 1996 and it still worked.     • Better than hoped for
For the price, this is one of my favorite gshocks. I got it for my fiance's birthday and he absolutely loves it. He loves that he can get it wet and play in the dirt without worrying about it. We havent had any problems. The pamphlet was super easy to follow and took 2 minutes to fully set it up. He loves that there is both the digital and traditional clock reading modes on this. Its very easy to read and comfortable on the wrist. It came in the original gshock box and tin. He also likes that the gold accents arent too flashy. Update: 2 1/2 years later and it still is going strong, no scratches, wear in the bands, delays, or humidity in the watch and we havent had to switch the battery yet. ... show more

True to their reputation, these watches are very tough. I purchsed 2 as gifts for people 7 months ago. I noticed one of the people I gifted one to was wearing it and I asked him how it was working out. He replied "Man this thing is tough!". He proceded to tell me about when he dropped it in a muddy ditch and didn't find it until a couole of hours later. He said he washed it off and put it back on and hasn't had any problems with it. The one thing I noticed about this particular model is it is a large watch. If you have smaller wrists or just prefer a smaller watch you may want to consider the size of this one.
