This timepiece links with the G-Shock Connected phone app to provide access to a number of functions that enhance workouts. Daily health and fitness support functions include a 3-axis accelerometer that keeps track of step counts, a Multi-Timer that lets you create up to 20 timer combinations of five timers each, memory for up to 200 lap records, and more. The app also makes it possible to maintain step count logs with five exercise intensity levels, to calculate the calories you burn, to specify a daily step target, and more. All these features combine to maximize your workouts and make them more effective. The watch is shock resistant, has a LED backlight, wireless linking using Bluetooth(R), stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, full auto-calendar, and is water resistant to 200 meters. Where do I start. The watch is very handsome. The entire unit is a deep green with some black accents, just like the pictures. It is durable, easy to use, easy to fit and very comfortable. Before Apple Watches and Galaxy Watches, there were your basic watches that told time, had a timer, a stopwatch, a world clock and a back light built in. I used to have an older model of Casio's G-Shock watch, and it lasted until I purchased a smart watch, which at that time the G-Shock was not considered that title. Now, I have a job where I will come home with scrapes and bruises, and will run into many things out of drive to accomplish tasks and full blown clumsiness. The G-Shock Men's GBD800UC-5 is a wonderful welcome to my return to the G-Shock line. I am not in the military, but the colors on the watch are suited more towards the men and women that serve, but honestly, I loved the color scheme that it made no difference to me. The screen can be hard to read, so you have to be in the right light or turn on the backlight. The addition to the G-Shocks are that they now are smarter and sync with your mobile device. This model tracks your steps and shows your daily route. The only problem is the Android app frequently crashes. Aside from that, it is a fantastic watch that proved to me that I get my daily steps and more. Plus, it can take a serious beating, which is great for me. Casio, if you want to send me G-Shocks to try and review, I would be more than happy to because these are fantastic watches! ... show more

    • Don’t buy for pedometer function. Overall good watch
The fit and finish of the watch is great. Fits nice, easy to read and durable. The part that is not great is the built in pedometer. It is very inaccurate. Also, I saw the watch was Bluetooth, however there is a catch. Anytime you want to view your stats on the app, you must connect the watch each time. ... show more

I enjoy my watch. It’s a nice green military color, the time or date is a little hard to set. I have to try it several times however, it’s a nice fit and it works well in the swimming pool.
