  • Great upgrade over the F91w if you care about the backlight.
This was the 1st watch I ever bought as a kid with my own allowance. Around 1993/94. This was the only Casio in the store display case that had the cool blue electro luminescence. Recently I was wearing a really cheap watch that finally quit on me so I decided to look at some of the retro/original Casio's as a replacement. The F105w is basically the exact same watch as the F91w but with a much better backlight. It was the reason I bought it years ago and the same reason I bought it now. It's worth the little extra. No need to go into details, these are great watches as most Casio's are. Only thing I didn't expect was that the strap is made for someone with a smaller wrist. I have 7.5" wrists and in my photo you can see that I have to wear it on the 2nd to last notch. This is still comfortable and I can even do 3rd or 4th to last yet It's much tighter and not comfortable. Great watches and if you're reading this you most likely already are searching for one of these old style Casio's. The better backlight is definitely worth the extra money over the F91w. ... show more

  • Does it job, but generally disappointing
Got this watch , was disappointing from the beginning. First of all, size wise it is small . I expected a men's watch, size wise it look more like a unisex watch . But this is probably my fault , I should be reading a manual before purchasing it and compare sizes, this time was too busy to do it, counted on picture which is a wrong approach. So digits a bit small to me , I am accustomed to a bigger ones. Second of all, functionality is very limited, I would expect more: no year present, so you need to set also a weekday at beginning of use, like we used to do in analog hand watches. Also 1 alarm only, I am accustomed to have at least two. Third , the band is indeed too short. I have a small wrist to my size , so I manage, but only barely. Also please take into account that those Casio bands hold for about 1-2 years and than break. A new one costs like a new watch. This is what happened to me again with my old Casio watch, which I had for 5-6 years. Till now I replaced the bands as I liked the watch, now decided to buy a new one. What I do like is the back light, indeed very nice and digits can be read well with it at night. Back light is definitely better than what I had in my old Casio, but all the rest degraded. So , I am started using it, generally I even can say I enjoy it till now (pretty strange to me that this is the case). BTW, another plus, it is indeed very light , I do not feel it on hand. But , if I would know what I know now , probably would not purchase this watch and go on some different model because what I got is pretty much not what I was looking to get. ... show more

  • Does all of the things I need at a very economical price
I have been using this model (or its antecedents) for 40 years. Totally satisfied. Does all of the things I need from a watch (time and date, alarm, stop watch). Never breaks. (The wrist bands eventually break from flexing and then I replace the watch, but I have never had the watch itself fail.) And, as inexpensive as it is, I don't worry about losing it, having it stolen, sweating all over it, splashing it with paint, or any other careless thing I might do to it. ... show more
