Description

With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market. Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward. This Black Out model comes with a sleek case style and all of the technical capabilities to match. This ana-digi timepiece comes powered with a 10-year battery and also boasts 100 meter water resistance, World Time and Tele Memo memory capacity. CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. • Budget-friendly, all-purpose watch
This is a great "all-purpose" watch, especially for changing environments: dressy enough to wear to the office, and durable enough to survive working on the car, home construction projects. The chunky 3D styling is aggressive, but the blacked-out dial and analog face make it subtle enough to wear with a blazer (which I've done multiple times). The white analog hands make it easy to read the time at a glance, but the negative-LCD screens are small and hard to read unless it's at the right angle - trade off for style. It has a lot of functionality, though the menus and controls are somewhat complicated. The only feature I consistently use is the snooze alarm, which is loud enough to wake me, though not obnoxious enough to keep me awake... But it repeats enough so the realization that I need to get up sets in. The Lume on the hands is there, but only lasts for a few minutes. Water resistance is good; I've gone swimming with it a few times without issue. At this price point, the band isn't spectacular in quality or fit, but is comfortable. I have small wrists, but the watch is light weight, and doesn't look too big. ... show more

  • Love it
Love the watch. The grey continents over the black that’s high gloss and no shine black make this pretty. Sets easy enough, super durable and looks good on a black fabric nato strap also.

  • Great Product For What it Is
My beloved dad left me a Rolex GMT Master "Fat Lady" circa 1983 and I love it and, living as I do in Fort Wayne, IN, I am reluctant to wear it. When I do, people either ask me if it is fake or zaftig women with prickly heat chapped inner thighs secondary to ambulatory difficulty, ask me if I am busy tonight. I purchased this watch and now realize that it keeps better time than my well maintained bequeathment. As such. I will likely continue procuring this model about which I have little concern and no overwheliming affinity, unlike the aforementioned Rolex. I highly commend Amazon. This fine company has built a better mousetrap and I will never buy 85% of the products needed for activities of daily living using any other provider. Long live Amazon! ... show more

  • Didn't work for me
I loved the look online, but when it arrived I realized I made a mistake. It doesn't have a stem and crown - that knob typically on the right side of the watch by the 3 that you turn to set the hands. That's apparently done via the push buttons around the face. Which leads me to issue #2 - the owner's manual. It is tiny - maybe 2 inches long by 1 inch wide, comes with 3 languages folded in half under the mounting piece that holds the watch in the box. As a result of which, the type font is miniscule. Now I'm older and my near vision isn't strong, but with reading glasses I can read most things. I actually needed a magnifying glass to read these instructions. And they've apparently packed a lot of functionality into the watch - world time, stopwatch, countdown timer, 3 daily alarms, calendar. There are probably more - I just copied from the page on the Amazon website. In any event - a lot going on there. More than I'm interested in mastering just to set the time. And it has several small digital/LCD displays that were too small and dark against the black face for me to read. And finally, the watch is huge and bulky. More like a bedside alarm clock than a wristwatch from my perspective. I wish Amazon allowed a No Rating review, since I really didn't get a chance to use the watch so I don't want to skew their rating, hence a 3, which from my perspective is a "neutral". ... show more

  • It's a bargain!!!
So far so good. Definitely need to read the instructions to set up your watch. Where else can you find a watch with Japanese Movement inside for $30? It is only the cost of a bowl of ramen!!
