  • Amazing Watch with Amazing Value! Amazing Watch with Amazing Value!
The Casio Men's A700W-1ACF Classic Digital Display Quartz Silver Watch is a great option for those looking for a stylish and functional watch. It has a classic design with a silver stainless steel case and band, and a digital display that shows the time, date, and day of the week. The watch is also water resistant to 50 meters, making it perfect for everyday wear. I've been using the Casio A700W-1ACF for about a month now, and I've been very impressed with it. It's comfortable to wear, and the digital display is easy to read. I also like that the watch is water resistant, so I don't have to worry about it getting wet if I get caught in the rain. Overall, I think the Casio Men's A700W-1ACF Classic Digital Display Quartz Silver Watch is a great value for the price. It's a stylish and functional watch that's perfect for everyday wear. Here are some of the pros and cons of the Casio Men's A700W-1ACF Classic Digital Display Quartz Silver Watch: Pros: Stylish design Functional digital display Water resistant to 50 meters Comfortable to wear Affordable Cons: The band may be too small for some people with large wrists The watch is not shockproof Overall, I think the Casio Men's A700W-1ACF Classic Digital Display Quartz Silver Watch is a great watch for the price. • Great watch, but pulls hair
I just can't get over how great this looks, with its slim profile and retro cool factor. It has all the functionality of the other affordable models, but in an even slimmer package, and I much prefer the comfortable yellow-orange backlight to the light blue backlight on other models. However, the reviews aren't kidding, this really pulls hair, so much so that it was initially unwearable for me. Rather than replace the strap, I decided to shave my wrist. Fortunately, with it's small profile I didn't have to shave too much. I realize that there is another A700 variant which has a strap that doesn't pull hairs, and that's a great option for someone who doesn't want to shave their wrist, but I really like the more masculine look of this one. I should also mention that the viewing angle is only sharp on the left wrist. It's not invisible by any stretch, but on the right wrist the digital display is a tad cloudy. ... show more

  • If it ain't broke, don't fix it
Casio knows what they are doing. I bought this cheap but vintage looking watch when my son was born, I never wear one but I needed one to check the time constantly during his first months. The light is very useful, is light, it has a chronometer, alarm. Nothing fancy, just simple, sturdy and very useful. My dad and grandad used to have a very similar watch and as a kid I always wanted one, for some reason I thought they were expensive but for what you pay you get an amazing bargain. The only downside, just make sure you understand the locking mechanism because it might seem it is locked but it falls from your wrist afterwards. That happened at the beginning until I understood how it locks properly. Maybe more my fault than the watches. ... show more

  • Great model, great quality and I love it!
Beautiful watch! Excellent quality, perfect size on wrist. I’ve had it for several months now and can give an honest, quality review of it for others looking for a Casio. It’s comfortable, the watch face is low profile, not bulky and perfect for everyday-allday wear. Holds up to claimed quality. It’s not too much and not too little. I genuinely Love this watch, I adore this model in particular. Would recommend to friends and coworkers. I looked and looked for different watches. I chose carefully as I wanted to be sure a watch I chose would be suitable to wear at work in the animal medical field and had the versatility to be worn anywhere else. Ultimately, I’m really pleased with this Casio and would absolutely purchase another in the future. 5 star all the way. ... show more

  • Retro, Slim, and Utilitarian Without Frills. Retro, Slim, and Utilitarian Without Frills.
I'm a (proud) owner of a Casio G-Shock GA700-UC and wanted something more befitting of my Sunday/Western-Best, so I wanted to explore more of Casio's options. This is NOT written by a certified watch expert nor a long-time Casio regular, and certainly not an influencer/shill, but someone who waited perhaps too long to make a move on the aforementioned G-Shock. I want to make this (short-term) review as helpful as possible to consider the A700W-1A. [Design] The A700W-1ACF (Module Number 3472/3479) is a unisex timepiece that is available in a number of different arrangements. This version is available in chrome/silver (purchased), gold, and a chrome/silver variant with subdued monochromatic notations (text) and Milanese band. There are two more recently released editions with a far more minimalist face with a mirror finish also available in gold and silver. I don't mind the cleaner minimalist look, but I find the Gold and Chrome/Silver A700W-1ACF to have more personality that falls in line with the bulkier A158WA-1DF and A168WA. The selling points of this watch are a retro aesthetic and an impressively slim profile at only 6 millimeters (0.23 inches), which says a lot about the underlying 3472/3479 module. It has a standard LCD with its size more or less comparable to the venerable F91-W and a tapered, segmented wrist strap, and a metal clasp with adjustment and retention flaps. There are two buttons on the left which control the backlight and mode switching, the right button switches between 12/24 hour time formats and cycling through each individual settings. [Durability and Reliability] The A700W-1ACF's construction consists of three materials: Chromed Resin for the case, mineral glass for the face, and stainless steel for the band. The mineral glass is less susceptible to scratches than plastic but you may err on the side of caution to avoid drops or harsh impact; rather standard procedure for any glass material. The resin case's chrome finish doesn't look nor feel cheap but will show wear earlier than stainless steel. The stainless steel band feels more premium and the clasp is sturdy thanks to ridged adjustment and retention with no free play, and the buttons don't feel fragile with little to no free play either. The back cover is screwed on tight and sits flush with the case, no blemishes/defects whatsoever. Regarding the water resistance, I don't use this one in rough and tumble environments where my G-Shock would be more appropriate (such as outdoor exercise, dirty work, etc.), but given Casio's track record for reliability I can deduce that the A700W-1ACF should be able to handle a round of manual dish washing. Timekeeping is situated manually without pre-selecting time zones although it does support adjusting to leap years, resetting the seconds counter is an option so that your watch and PC have consistent timekeeping. For my individual case, a minute is about a meager two seconds off from my smartphone, take that however you will. [Ease of Use] Given the aforementioned design, three buttons is more than enough to do the job for all of the A700W-1ACFs functions. The display has about the same contrast you'd get on any non-negative (non-inverse) LCD panel, decent viewing angles, except when using the backlight while viewing the display at a downwards angle . Some might fuss about the need to hold the backlight button down, but it's pretty standard at this range of Casio watches from what I've seen on various videos and it really isn't a big deal in my opinion. The buttons are easy enough to press but not so much that one can accidentally switch modes or turn on the backlight. Configuring each setting is a matter of pressing the leftmost mode button until the seconds segment flashes, then you select individual fields with the light button while adjusting the settings using the 12/24 hour start/stop button on the right. When you are finished with the settings you can exit the configuration mode by either pressing the mode button or letting the watch idle and return to timekeeping mode on its own. The hardest part of using this watch is strap adjustment, which requires a flat tool to open the adjustment flap, it's safe to say if you find the right size adjustment try and stick to it otherwise it's set it and forget it. [Fit and Feel] The major selling point of this watch above all else is its slim and dress-unobtrusive profile. I can testify that these exact two points are achieved without exaggeration. Naturally a bulkier watch would tap the back of the hand and in my case this one does so but without advertising its presence. If I wore longer sleeves throughout the year I would almost forget that I am wearing the A700W-1ACF. There's just enough weight to be felt without obnoxious slack, especially if tightened to be properly flush with your wrist. By the way if you ever feel like the stainless steel strap is tugging at your hairs (which is a valid concern) try adjusting the size down to where it's properly flush with your wrist, this doesn't completely get rid of hair pulling but makes it far less frequent. [Authenticity and Value] Going through everything I've covered, I feel like the A700W-1ACF has both personality and utility that punches above its price range. You don't get any fancy bells and whistles, at most the slimness and amber-orange backlighting are its stand-out "features". Nothing feels cheap, out of place, nor "too derivative" of other watches on the market to bore you to tears. Slightly tedious adjustment process, but as said before once you get it right it's pretty much set-it-and-forget-it. I might fetch one of the newer variants with the more minimalist glass, but I probably won't review it because everything I've said about this one can be said about the other, minus the purely cosmetic differences. Addressing the issue of authenticity, I'm not a veteran in the culture around analog or digital watches, but I did some scouring and duly noted the amount of counterfeits that plague not just Amazon but just about anywhere that sells watches. Thankfully, I was shipped an authentic unit but would give some advice to those who are skeptical. Most digital Casio watches have built-in "hidden features" that tell you everything about authenticity. The first test is the factory display test which is performed by pressing all three buttons (2 left, 1 right for the A700WC-1ACF) together at once, all the segments of the display should be filled. The second test is pressing and holding the rightmost button (start/stop/12 hour/24 hour) for five seconds until CASIo appears, it should reset back to normal. If your unit doesn't correspond to any of the two tests you either have a counterfeit or defective unit, the latter I can't estimate the likelihood of. ... show more

  • Casio Digital Watch Model A700W-1ACF
I received my Casio digital watch model A700W-1ACF today. I must say it exceeded my expectations. This watch is inexpensive; but, elegant, and, indeed, more elegant than photos suggest. So, aesthetically, it definitely represents value for money. In addition, immediately, you will be pleased, if, like me, you are looking for a sleek-thin watch that is light-weight and so comfortable you forget you are wearing it. So, excellent for daily wear. The display is crisp-sharp, and the digital numbers clearly viewable from different angles and in different light. The time, calendar, alarm, and other functions are super easy to set up. This is a classic watch for those who appreciate simplicity and understated elegance at a great price. A winner from Casio and a keeper for me. ... show more

  • After 1 Year of Use After 1 Year of Use
It's been a full year since I started using this watch everyday as a garbage collection operator. It has stood up solidly against all the elements, is very simple and easy to use, and keeps really good time. I think I've only had to adjust the time once in the last year. It didn't adjust to leap year, but that's no big deal. I highly recommend this particular old school watch, especially for guys with small wrists and because of the quality of the backlight (orange illumination). The backlight doesn't fade as it goes across the face. The fading backlight is like most of the watches from back in the day, so don't get this watch if you actually want that. Lastly, I should also mention that there was one day recently that I was sweating a lot and the wristband left a gray metallic ring around my wrist. It was easily washed off. Considering all things, it's hardly worth mentioning. ... show more

  • Solicits entirely too many compliments for a 20 dollar watch. Works perfect. Waterproof. Slim. Solicits entirely too many compliments for a 20 dollar watch. Works perfect. Waterproof. Slim.
It keeps time beautifully. Slim (6mm! I couldn't find anything slimmer). Waterproof. I'm rough as hell with it and wear it almost 24/7 including when washing my hands, swimming, and showering. No issues. One tiny nearly impercetable scratch I have to catch the light just right to see the iridescence of. Out of years of wear. Strap is comfortable. I forget I'm wearing it. Lightweight. Beautiful. Subtle color accents. (blue yellow green red across the top, very tasteful). Gets compliments which is wild because it's the cheapest watch money can buy that you never have to take off. I use the hourly chime and the alarm all the time. I almost never use the light except rarely at night. It hasn't run out of batteries yet somehow. Idk it's pretty perfect I can't think of a way to improve it. I have lightly hair arms and it hasn't pulled out any hairs. Ymmv. I haven't triee removing the excess strap because it isn't noticeable and I'm quite sensitive to discomfort able textures and sensations. It's my daily wear for years and years now. Replaced the resin strap classic version. You've read this far. Just buy it. You know you want to. It's friggin twenty bucks dude. ... show more
