  • Holy Guacamole
Size: Container
This really works! Easy to use!

  • No more tossed Guac.
Size: Container
Worked as perfectly... if you read the directions. Good: Never again will I plan my day around getting through the entire container of Guacamole. If you are looking at this product you realize that Guacamole has less tolerance for air exposure than a toddler has patience at the DMV. The air seal works well, we can get just enough guac for a bowel of chips today AND I can do it again tomorrow and the next day. BAD: (because I'm an engineer assuming I knew how it worked.) What about "read the directions" you ask? That little hole on the top if for venting air for storage. It IS NOT for squeezing a little guacamole out like a frosting piping bag. I have the hernia to prove it. I did manage to get a little, but if anyone know how to clean guac out of a chandelier I'm all ears. ... show more

  • A must have for avocados
Size: Container
Pros: It effing works. I’ve had this avocado in there for at least a week and there’s no brown, fresh as the day I accidentally squished it and had to open it. Guac-Lock to the rescue! Cons: Not great for small quantities and can’t handle more than 3 avocados at once so there’s a sweet spot but this isn’t for anything outside that range. They should make one for bigger quantities *hint hint* Pro-Tip: Place green bottom in where you approximately need it (go lower than you expect since you can’t fill then push the green down if you run out of room - rookie mistake), gently fill (don’t mix your guac ingredients here), snap lid on with top piece open, place on white base and gently push down (even pressure) until all the air is out and guac is flush with the top, remove from white base and then close the top piece. Once that’s done you can store In the fridge on the white base and enjoy guac for longer than 15 min before it’s brown soup. ... show more

  • Perfect Guacamole Every Time You Open It
Size: Container
Usually suspicious of most food storage and kitchen gadget claims, this Casabella Guac-Lock Container was purchased with a slight degree of trepidation even though most of the customer reviews praised it and the video demonstrated it easily enough. Sure enough though, after having filled it twice now full to the brim with the maximum dosage of freshly prepared guacamole, it has performed not only admirably but surprisingly surpassed all expectations. Really! Our first go-round lasted a full 5 days without so much as a tinge of browning avocado anywhere in the container. I fully expected a slight browning on the very top or in the creases at the edge of the silicone seal where it faithfully hugs the inner plastic container. Nope! On the last day, removed the top and ate up all the remainder with no sign of age. Second time through we purposefully left the last of it a full week. I don’t believe we can make it last longer than we can refrain from eating simply because it is so fresh and delicious every time we open the container! The push-up silicon seal that you leverage your guacamole up against the top is easy to push so be careful. The top of the container seals equally well, snug, but is easy to open as the latches keep the top securely in place and sealed perfectly. The top latch which secures the air hole gets snapped in last (removed first when opening) and there is literally no mess and no fuss using the Casabella Guac-Lock Container. It also cleans up extremely easy in mild soap and water (another beauty of silicone design). Easy to use, easy to operate, easy to assemble and disassemble, and easy to clean; and it works as advertised, maybe better; what more can you ask for a kitchen contraption? If you love guacamole and hate the hassle of having to make small amounts to avoid waste and food loss, this Guac-Lock Container is just what you need. We have not one single complaint about any aspect of this product, in fact, find it highly praiseworthy. It is simply a terrific new “invention” for a specialty group of foodies. • Not sure is I’m using it right!
Size: Container
I doesn’t work as I was expecting, but I’m still using it. The guac stills stays fresh but the bottom part of the container, not the white piece, doesn’t stay up if the guac is a bit heavy. I still love the product, maybe I just need to practice how to use it. Perfect size, and design

  • Keeps the air out
Size: Container
I buy a bag of avocados every 1-2 weeks and I was having issues where 1 or 2 might get wasted because they got too ripe before I could eat them. I have tried several methods to keep guacamole from browning: saran wrap tucked against the guacamole and then sealed, pouring water on top of the guacamole and sealing, but those weren't working well. Finally I decided to give this a try and it does indeed work really well. The written instructions make it seem more complicated than it is. All you have to do is: put the guacamole into the container, seal the lid with the clamps, use the white ring to push all the air out from below and get the container as tight as you can, and then push the green flip-latch closed. You will still get some very slight browning with guacamole after 24 hours in the area at the very top of the container where the air can't completely get pushed out (< 5% of the total amount), but this is miles better than any of the other methods I tried. I once forgot about mashed avocado I had left in there after 5 days and when I popped the lid off it was still completely green. My only small complaint is that you need to have about 2 medium-sized avocados worth of guacamole in order to seal the container properly. Otherwise the amount is too small for the white ring to push all the way (the lid is curved and also stores some of the guacamole when it's sealed). This Guac-Lock along with my OXO Avocado slicer are now a nice avocado-specific combo in my kitchen inventory. ... show more
